Body Fat Percentage - Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis - BIA

Ғылым және технология

This video shows Dr. Evan Matthews explaining how to estimate body fat percentage using a Tanita foot-to-foot bioelectrical impedance analysis (BIA) system.
This is just one of many ways that body fat percentage can be estimated. There are several pre-testing guidelines that must be followed to ensure the results are accurate, but when done properly, this is one of the easiest and fastest ways to estimate body fat percentage.

I tried a few machines and researched online , all the machine considers is the weight height and age. If you did it again but chnaged the age and height it will give you different results. The machine should give indicators only using weight and the electrical current

Hi Watch With Me. I have the same critique of BIA machines. However, they work based on regression equations. and those other descriptors typically predict body fat percentage. That is why they make it into the regression equation. See Table 1 of the paper linked to below to see a list of BIA equations and how much emphasis the electrical resistance is given in each equation. pubs.sciepub.com/ijcn/2/1/1/
