I got to see Body Count in '92 at Lollapalooza. They were banned from playing this song, so Sound Garden came out and played it for them. It was epic.

Back in the days when cops were allowed to suppress free speech. Thank you, 2 Live Crew for getting a judge to shut down the cops!
As a kid from 1980’s NYC who loved hip hop and metal I loved this album. Listened to it non stop. Ice T is a national treasure.

I saw them in green point Brooklyn in the early 2000's they killed it
I remember when this came out and there was a big campaign from police associations to have this song censored. Even the POTUS chimed in. The band and label took a lot of heat. Funny Ice T went on to play a cop on TV.
This track was a few years after NWA. It was in response to the beating of Rodney King. And they've been going strong ever since. My favorite Body Count songs. There Goes the Neighborhood. No Lives Matter. Bowels of the Devil. Black Hoodie. Winner Loses All.

Black Hoodie is a straight up depressing song.
Our whole summer camp bus got felony stopped by the police for bumping this song. We were 10.
I'm so white I am almost see through. This was my favorite band when I was a kid. I was lucky enough to see them live in my home country. Legends! Beatmaster v was a beast!
Finally. Someone had the Balls to do this song!!! Subscriber for life.... 🖤
Best song ever. I was privileged enough to see Body Count the year this released.
I've T created this band so his friend could play guitar. That's the cat with the solo. Banger! ❤
I'm an old school punk rock guy from Michigan, from Battle Creek but also lived in Detroit, Flint, & Ypsilanti. I remember exactly how pissed off everyone got at this song. Good commentary. The reason for the war on drugs itself explains why white guys get less jail time for drug crimes than black guys. Nixon staryed the war on on drugs & his strategist H.R. Haldeman said on his death bed that the reason was because he viewed blacks & hippies as enemies, so by incarcerating as amany as possible on lame drug charges thet are permanently removed from the voting pool. Which is still the case.

Bill Clinton TOO
I was about 10 when this came out... lived in DC... listening to NWA and SLAYER.... love them both 💕 ❤
LA native here, from South LA. I love BC. Top five tracks, no order: Kay Kay Kay Bish, Body Count, Necessary Evil, Bowels of the Devil, and Last Breath. The song you played here is another long-time favorite, so it speaks for itself. My Way, first track on Violent Demise, is another classic.
When I was 10 I had to listen to this tape under my bed covers so my parents wouldn't hear it.
Oh god, this song caused such a massive shitstorm when it came out, for obvious reasons... More like a faecal hurricane, actually.
NWA's track came first... My top 5 No Lives Matter, There Goes the Neighborhood, Cop Killer, Evil Dick, Hey Joe.
Before Nu METAL. There was BODY COUNT.(Formed in 1989.) & they are still playing in until today.(2021) \m/
Detroit, MI... Best Body Count songs... My Way, I Used To Love Her, Necessary Evil, Body Count, KKK Bitch, Mama's Gotta Die Tonight. One of my favorite bands of all time. I had the pleasure of seeing them at Mayhem Fest in 2014. I also got to meet Vinnie Price, he was workin the frickin merch tent!!! The third longest Body Count member... I asked him why he was working the merch tent and he told me... "I wanna meet everybody that came out to see us."
Oh this about to be good, I just listened to this again last week.
Love Body Count From Day One - Have All Their Albums - My Top 5 BC Songs Are - 1. The Winner Loses 2. Cop Killer 3. Bowels Of The Devil 4. Neccessary Evil 5. This Is Why We Ride.
People clutched their pearls when this came out. Then all the Rampart division shit came out and some people started to get it.
I loved this album when it came out blared it out of my car in Alabama. My Fav Body count songs are "I will always love you" song dedicated to Veterans. Rain in blood/postmortem (even if it is cover), Instutionalized (another cover but with updated lyrics), Momma's going to die tonight, and Point the Finger.
One of the greatest protests songs
Your face is priceless lmaoooo....if you haven't already..check out the song Colors.
This song was even blacklisted here in Germany. :) Loved it back then - love it now.
I am an 80'$ kid ..am as white as the driven snow ...now picture this me at age 12 ..rocking a boombox ..thew the ghetto of Cornish Maine ...lol blasting this song ..when I saw what you were reacting to I could not help but the inject my own naritive in to this !

Nice one
Stand for something! Or you'll fall for anything
Congress was all over ICE-Ts Ass when this came out. This song was talked about often by political figures in a very negative way.
I Green Bay WI, he played a we'll known punk click b, they told Ice not to play this song when it first came out. He played it and cops waited outside and, arrested him 😂😂 Check out "No Lives Matter."

YO SORRY FOR THE CAPS. I WANT YOU TO SEE THIS, IN THE 90S I TALKD TO ICE ON MYHOUSEPHONE TRYING TO GET BODY COUNT TO PLAY A PROTEST AGAINST A KKK MARCH. SO DOPE THESE ARE THE SONGS FROM A FAN FROM DAY ONE (I’m 42). 1. The winner loses, 2. Kkk bitch, 3. There goes the neighborhood 4. No lives matter 5. Black hoodie. Also, NWA was first
"They" let your reaction play, but the comments are not allowed. I've commented twice, but they are not here. Let's see if this one posts. Seriously, you're being muffled. I'd use other words, but I'm sure they would disappear with the others. Not your fault, but it really sucks. I've been through the '70s, '80s, '90s, etc., and I see what's up …
Such a shame. That. These youngsters. Don't know. Body count. N.w.a,. 2livecrew. Or the many more.
Ill subscribe you got some cohonies do some GettoBoyz
Erie c is the fucking man.
You are currently reacting post-song as I type this....I'm gonna guess that you understand the feeling behind it, but judging by the look on your face the whole time the song was playing....you didn't like this. The idea of it is beautiful, but killing is never right, no matter what. EDIT: Back in this time, long haired metalheads were guaranteed to be brutalized with any police interaction, hence Ice's line about wrong music, long hair....yet that is forgotten and we metalheads are ok with it because that's not the issue anymore. The issue is police officers not getting extensive psychological testing before getting a badge. The job attracts power hungry sociopaths, and they get military training instead of peace officer training (their actual job) and we all sit here wondering what happened.
Nope. You don't. Get to. Listen to any of this. Go back to sleep
