This is why our judicial system is such a mess. Even those who work in the courts cannot even follow the law. The young lady needs to go to rehab. She has no business being out getting drunk when she has a 3 year old at home. I’m all for a night out but to this extent no way. I have 5 children. When I wanted to be out with friends I never came home intoxicated and I NEVER drank any alcohol in their presence. None. The first time my youngest daughter saw me intoxicated was on my 50th birthday. She was 22 at the time. All my children 4 don’t drink alcohol at all, and one likes a glass of wine from time to time. Today I do my drinking with friends never at home alone . I’m proud of my kids they all grew up with huge peer pressure but managed to get through high school and college without incident.

What's sad is cops waste their own time harassing people everyday. That's why it takes them an hour to respond. I don't see why a domestic violence situation is a waste of time. In most cases, cops don't have to arrest people for a misdemeanor, they can simply write a court summons and have the subject appear on a court date. Going to jail for many people can cause them to lose their jobs, homes, children and more. Not everyone has money for bail and most cases get dropped in court anyway. Going to jail for petty things is a cops way of trying to get promoted by the number of arrests they have.

And eventually, issues that have gotten out of control are exposed, it doesn’t matter who the person is. Dysfunction is at every level of humanity it appears, I worked for a Superior Court judge and he would get drunk, and drive, abuse his wife, but mercy was bestowed upon him. @2233Brenda *Brenda. I work in the courts [Suffolk county]. You could replace 'MOM' with 'BOYFRIEND' 100 times per week. The victim call's cops or files a complaint, then lies in order to get them out because things have cooled down. If we're lucky, this will be the cycle for a few years until the 2 totally split. But many, many times either the boyfriend or girlfriend end up dead, sometimes both. Most time's, thank God, it is only 1 of the 2 who end up dead. Regular people see murder in the news. Nearly every time someone along the line in the law enforcement community/DA's office, will say, "I knew him/her. He/she lied to get her/him off recently." In Suffolk county once you make the Domestic violence complaint, it's next to impossible to retract. This is why so many end up dead during issues violence in the home. Any cop will tell you it's the most dangerous call you can take. It's like addiction. If it's not taken care of SWIFTLY, the very first time, then thats it. It now has it's foot in the door & the rest is coming fast & it's just behind that first slap. I would like a law passed to say if the accuser pull's out of it 2 times, then on the 3rd time they must follow through or the above kick's into play. I grew up in Ireland, where my dad [_when he was a drinker-A minor stroke scared him clean in the 90's & thank God who Blessed our family with that stroke over 30 yrs ago_] would slap my mom about. After a few times the cop's refuse to act. They told her, "Take it all the way & we'l back you, otherwise stop calling". I now see their point*

Judge tells officer her daughter hit her and is drunk. And admits to hitting her back. Doesn't want her there in the home and wants her to leave. And the daughter is the one that called, and then won't cooperate at all. As she slurs her words. And she's an attorney? So after being arrested, officer needs to go tell the judge, that's now in bed. Her daughter is arrested. But now she says nothing happened. You make a verbal and written statement. What? Judge knows the law and should know her and her daughter aren't above it. But seams to think she can get the officer to look the other way. I think the officer handled this very well and professionally.
