This is my favorite season just because it lowkey feels like a horror movie with how Marlo’s crew essentially just MASS MURDERS anyone and everyone that could cause them problems. Even characters I didn’t particularly like or care for-I FELT HORRIFIED FOR THEM whenever Chris and Snoop showed up to take them for a walk.

Bodie's advice was good. But Marlo was a psychopatic and little Kevin was a big mouth little creep. Still, that last look on his face from the back of that car was...Heart breaking.

Kevin had 3 strikes against him: 1) Getting picked up by the police 2) Disobeying direct orders 3) Lying directly to Marlo and his crew (the nose rub) when asked if he told Randy about what happened to Lex Truthfully, Kevin was probably dead the moment he told Marlo that he got picked up by the police and that he had Randy do his dirty work. Doubling down on his insubordination instead of telling the truth merely validated Marlo's decision to have him executed.

What I like about this scene is the contrast with the first three seasons. In the Barkesdale storyline, the dealers have fancy clubs and front organisations to cover their tracks. They have family and a culture. By the end of the series, the Game isn't about being hard, or having a code, or honor, or any of that. It's not a part of the community or a way out of poverty and into a glamorous lifestyle. It's not about being smarter and more cunning. It's just blank-faced psychopaths sitting in a concrete wasteland, ordering people dead with a nod of the head for next to no reason. Even the music is different. It's empty violence now, the end point of the arms race between drug dealers.

The title is misleading as fuck. Bodie did not give him bad advice, based on what Lil Kevin told him. Lil Kevin didn't tell Bodie the whole story behind why he got jacked up by the police. Denis Mulvihill Sorry if you took offence, but I stand by what I said. The character of Little Kevin was stupid. Maybe more cocky than stupid but stupid nonetheless. That's why he lied to Marlo about telling Randy what happened to Lex, he knew it was stupid and would've got him killed which it did. Marlo was right to ace him, he had a big mouth and stupidly opened up Marlo's organisation to outsiders about the bodies (to Randy and eventually the police). He had to go, this was nothing like the security guard issue.

I think you hit the nail on the head where pretty much EVERY CHARACTER (no matter how minor) feels ACTUALIZED and you get the feeling that they have their whole daily schedule they attend to even when you’re not watching a scene they’re in so when the focal point of the plot comes back around to them, you feel sorta like you’re catching back up with an old acquaintance who have been busy taking care of business during the time intervals you weren’t seeing them.

The worst part had to be telling Bodie afterwards, cuz he knew there was nothing he could do but more so that it caught him so off guard cuz he thought Kevin was innocent.

Bodie’s advice was the advice he would have given to Wallace had he had the chance, and in that situation it might have actually worked. He didn’t give bad advice in a general sense, he just didn’t know how to operate around an irrational psychopath because there is really no way to do so.

He also didn't know how involved Kevin was with the murder, or that he didn't tell Lex himself like he was supposed to. If Bodie had all the facts he probably wouldn't have told Kevin to go find Marlo.

I wish Slim had a bigger role on this show. I really dug his character. Ol' school street type.

I think it was out of friendship and respect, and to give him warning that marlo isn't playing around. bodie was all but ready to die at that point though. wish he had gotten that marlin fishing trip, but that ain't in the game.

2:07 You can tell Chris and Snoop didn't believe him in the slightest.

Slim is one of the best "secondary" characters in all of tv history. Was in every season too. Also he and poot are the only ones to survive the game

He was only in the show from season 3-5 sadly.. he was dope ass character so I wish he was in more. Definitely need to get more seasons of this show!!!

If Little Kevin had put in his own work instead of subcontracting that shit to some kid (Randy), no one would have known about how Lex died and Little Kevin would still be on the corner rubbin his hands together like Birdman.

The minute Chris says, "You was supposed to do that", it was all over for him. It would have taken a hail mary. A.) He showed that he disobeyed orders. B.) He did it out of fear, which doesn't qualify as a good reason to a psychopath like Marlo, and C.) As a result of B.), Marlo had no time for weak employees.

The look on Bodie's face when Slim drops the news on him is horrible, *I* felt that.

Little Kevin killed himself in this situation. 1. He should've just stuck to the objective that was given to him. He should've told Lex to go to the playground and kept Randy out of it. At that point he got someone extra involved that didn't need to be, especially not a kid like Randy. Then to make matters worse, Kevin went and pretty much told Randy what happened to Lex. 2. Kevin comes back on the block playing innocent to Bodie like the only reason he got picked up was for lying about his name. Going off what he gets told, Bodie DOES NOT give Kevin bad advice. Bodie's just telling Kevin for as long as you've been missing, Marlo will think something's up so plead your case before they come looking for you. 3. Last but not least, the finale in Kevin's fuck-ups is he switched his story. He snitched on Randy to protect his own skin, but in doing so he also showed that he didn't follow instructions given. He should've said exactly what he said to Bodie and left it there. Instead he points the finger at Randy, exposes both of them and ends up dead. If only Bodie knew the true reason why he got taken out...

The way Bodie delivers that line at 1:27 sounds so realistic

Fact

Slim silently made his way, by always being in the right places at the right time. He’s was very methodical, quiet, patient, humble and a straight up KILLER. All the making’s of a true gangster.

Guy who played Bodie great acting

A lot of people think that the way Kevin told his story is what got him killed. Kevins fate was already sealed nothing he said was gonna change that. Marlo just wanted to see how much Randy knew and what else Kevin said. They were waiting to see if any more loose ends needed to be taken care of and once Kevin swore he said nothing more. That was the end of it and they sent him to his death.

GrizzINK - and the same went for Omar robbing the stash house in season 1.. which lead to Brandon dying, which lead to Wallace dying, which lead to Stringer's eventual death as well as Omar was out for revenge. That stash house robbery was the catalysts for a lot of events though out the series as well. It was all on Omar as well.

Hennything is possible he was suppose to deliver the message to Lex himself “to meet Lex GF at the park” instead he told Randy to do it. Randy told Lex, and after Lex was killed Kevin is seen telling Randy that Lex ain’t coming back out of the Ally because Chris and Snoop gave him a visit or something of that nature. The second he said that he done fucked up. Randy is a teen w/ a big mouth and starts talking not in a intentional way, but just saying what Kevin said, which is why Randy gets marked as a snitch. Lex was Bodie friend, so Lil Kev did betrayed Bodie, and Lex because he never told Bodie that he was the one who did it, or attempt to set it up. lol Kev had a good relationship w/ Marlo, Bodie was force to work for Marlo, and he came to terms with it, even when Bodie gets killed he was still working on Marlo Corner. At the end of the day Kev got his ass dealt with for not doing what he was told, and having a big mouth.

Bodie was forced to take Marlos package knowing he'd be murdered if he didn't which was inferior to the package he had been getting from Prop Joe.

DJ Devinstation I know he should’ve just told lex himself and left randy out of it. Randy knew about it, and began telling the principal all this stuff because he was afraid of what would happen. But you know who really fucked up? HERC during the interrogation Little Kevin mentions randy and Herc makes a face like he knows who he is talking about and tries to play it off so it falls on Kevin to realize randy snitched, so when he talks to Marlo he tells him that Randy snitch but that also causes problems because it wasn’t randy job to do that and now a kid got cops looking for a murderer

The graphics at the end of this video over Kevin's face made me burst out laughing at the tragi-comedy.

We have to agree that the actor behind Lil Kevin played the character with passion. He brings the character to life so well that you don't even realize it's a portrayal. The Wire had good writers, but they were supported by good actors and actresses.

Yea it's an entertaining show, but in the real world, Walt would have got packed up real quick. Just a lot of over the top extra Hollywood shit in a lot of crime dramas where the Wire kept it as esoteric and authentic as possible. You can even hear and see in Kev's voice and actions talking to Bodie the skepticism on if Bodie is making the right call with his advice. The look on his face in the trunk. Just chilling. It's like you could be watching that from your window

but the fact that we didn't see slim made him such a good character. the wire was a show about evil people. Slim at least had a code. The wire was a show about people breaking the rules (the cops, politicians, and the gangstes). Charles was one of the few good, code-following characters- that's why we didn't see him so much. Slim was a good dude, everyone else in the wire was an evil bastard.

Drugs for season 1 (the overachieving theme and end product of the broken social systems), jobs/union with the port in season 2, government and politics in season 3, education system in season 4, media in season 5
