Powerful, sad and strong. By speaking she has given a voice to so many women who feel they cannot speak. I pray you find healing and peace. May you once again feel safe and may you grow to be stronger than you ever knew. You are no victim my young sister...you are a survivor, an overcomer. The world thought it could break you but it only made you stronger! Blessings and wabale nyo nnyabo❤️❤️❤️

This is an amazing poem! The narration and imagery are so vivid. The symbolism, metaphors and repetition are all on flick. The topic of rape and sexual harassment that many fear to talk about has been boldly approached. As a young girl, I truly understand the dangers of the boda boda stage. This spoken word has gotten me in my feelings🤧🤧🤧 Kudos to you Kabera!

The recitation is good. The tone and the mood bring out the feelings clearly. Indeed we can agree with William Wordsworth that poetry is spontaneous overflow of powerful feelings recollected in tranquility

teenpoetryslamUG there are more polite ways to communicate online than your initial response. Our interest in contacting the poet certainly requires reaching their guardian first for a great opportunity that your platform afforded. Whoever handled the initial response was rather unprofessional and needs to check their grammar as well. It doesn’t hurt to be respectful of one another regardless of the scenario (especially when you’re handling a platform of this magnitude).

The art of poetry exhibited is good. But on the contrary I find this poem so toxic especially for our sisters in a single girls' school. It paints men as devils which isn't the case bcz even the fathers of these kids are men and I don't think they harrase them as the poem depicts. Let not the few untamed men be a point of reference for all men. At the end of the day these girls have to find themselves a befitting man but with such intoxication we may end up seeing girls opting for fellow girls since men are harsh, are trash etc. Men are good people not trash as u say.

Hi Timothy, please understand that for a rape victim, the world looks unsafe ,and men as one .To avoid this kind of stigma,Its upto us men to make the world feel safe for them, listen and stand by them, show them we care and we are not all the same and as we do all that,We need to make sure the men found guilty of these acts face punishment or prosecution.FYI, Kabera is a 17 year old student who took the time to listen to girls that have been through this hell and decided to speak up since everyone else acts like nothing is wrong. Its okay to not like the poem, but its not okay to not acknowledge the power she exalted .However, thank you for your comment.

What’s sad is that many good men are more offended by her than by the fact that she was violated in such a way. What’s sad is that many women on this planet are surrounded by good men who will lift their voice against feminism yet stay silent when they hear and see how some men behave. It is only a few bad men giving a bad name to the good men, so why not tell them to shut up? Then no need for the poem. If all the good men stood up and were heard, we would have little need for these types of videos and good men will not feel attacked. Problem solved. Cheers!
