we bought a rollover mt55 from a auction that was rolled for dirt cheap .Got it home it was smoking like a chimney.Pulled all glow plugs out did compression test we were getting around 410-420 psi from all but 1 cylinder the bad one was 290 .Pulled off head and top deaded all cylinders and bad one was down 1/8 inch .Pulled engine and found a bent rod .amazing it did not snap. All together about a 500 fix runs as good as new now

Thanks! You saved me a trip to the Bobcat dealer or worse, a ruined engine. It took me a couple of hours to follow these steps for my MT85, but if I hadn’t had to hunt for a deep well 10mm socket it would have went a lot faster. I hope my tip goes a little way toward encouraging you to make more helpful content. Because I definitely found this helpful!

good info! flipped my mini skid a week ago and struggled to find a good info about what to do. After some research I did the same trick with the glow plugs and it is fine now. I wish I saw this video earlier, it would save me some time and some oily mess.. So I'll live this comment to pop it up a little for the future strugglers to find it easier :)

Great explanation. My worker rolled my new wacker sm100. I’m in the middle of doing just this and it took me hours of research to figure out how, would’ve been nice to find this first. Also yanmar engine is horrible to work with, glow plug access is impossible. That’s what I’m struggling with now.

I just learned this!!!!!!! When you roll over often times driver accidentally activates auxiliary (breaker action) if this stays activated when rolled upright the machine won’t start. I did everything in this video and more and couldn’t figure it out. It was as simple as putting the hand lever back in normal position. MAAAAAN!!! Cheers to that make sure you check your levers/seat pushed down/ safety bar are all down when trying to start al!

I just watched another video where it cost a guy $400 to service the engine after rollover and that was not on scene that was in shop. It took him like 8 hours or something to flip it over, load on a trailer, drive it to shop and pick it up from Shop. My comment to him was learn how to service it yourself. Much less time. Thanks for your video! 👍

Just rolled mine a couple days ago. A new engine will run you about $5000 plus tax and shipping. And that's if YOU put it in. Getting it shut off as it tipped over saved mine.

Tipped my MT85 over today. I had it shut off in seconds and upright in less than 5 minutes (there was an excavator nearby). I’ve pulled the glow plugs and they are sooty but dry. Do I still need to crank it over with the glow plugs removed or am I good to reassemble since they are dry? If I do crank it over with them removed, should I expect oil to come out? Also, on the MT85 I had to pull the air box and muffler to get access to the glow plugs. And a deep well 10mm is helpful to get the glow plugs out.

It won't hurt to turn the engine over with glow plugs removed. Just be on the safe side. You may not see oil, which would be a good thing

@@tetradgroup ok, so thank you so much for the recommendation to go ahead and crank it over with the glow plugs removed. Despite the plugs being clean, the cylinder furthest from the radiator was full of oil. The middle cylinder had some oil, and the cylinder closest to the radiator had no oil. I was able to clear the oil, replace the glow plugs, and start it up. It smoked briefly but sounded normal. It seems somewhat reluctant to start sometimes now, but otherwise seems to operate just fine. I’m positive I would have damaged something if I had assumed the clean plugs meant no oil and cranked it with them reinstalled.

I have an employee that tipped one over on a fairly steep hill was tipped over for about an hour. Employee says he shut it off within 3 seconds of him jumping off the machine. Motor at the moment will not turn over under starter power. I don’t believe there was ample enough time for damage to be done on the motor however I’m not sure why it will not turn over with glow plugs removed? Any help would be greatly appreciated

Machines have fuses that’ll burn to prevent further damage. I would check fuses and relays if they are all good (specifically glow plug and starter relay, all fuses) I would check to see if anything got nocked off or pulled off like wires. And if it’s still not turning over I would look at as many KZread videos as possible. And if that fails I’d buy a beer and call bobcat triple A while talking shit to liberals on instagram. 😅

it's all nice. but if you start the engine around like this and it has gone around 5x, you can just screw things back up again .. Starting 30x makes no sense. . we have over 30 bobcats running so I know what I'm talking about
