Bobby's Wish...To Be A Marine! 🌟 Make-A-Wish New Jersey
Things are different, things have changed in a post-Sandy world. So, in lieu of our traditional Thanksgiving letter, tonight our board and staff take great pride in sharing a wish story video tribute with you. As you'll soon see, some things have NOT changed at all, including our powerful mission! We dedicate this video to ALL people, everywhere, impacted by Superstorm Sandy. It's in honor too of all our donors and volunteers, who gift us their time, talents and treasures. But it's dedicated especially to wish children and families everywhere, some who are home this week, others who will remain in hospitals...it's particularly dedicated to those families who have lost a child, some who will be celebrating their first Thanksgiving without their precious angels. Our hearts ache for them. And finally, it's in honor of all men and women who wear the uniform that protects and ensures our freedom, and those who have given the ultimate sacrifice. And now, 'Bobby's Wish...To Be A Marine!"

This is the best one yet all the military ones are all so soft they just do the fun stuff glad he got the di treatment I hope he pulls through and becomes the devil dog he should be

I would have loved for him to have gotten an entire week. One day was great, especially the way they tried to make it real for him. From the few vids i watched, every branch; Marine Corps, Coast Guard, Navy, Army has done this.

I get it that this was ten years ago or more and that a young boy is entitled to boyish dreams, and that Make a Wish is about granting that wish rather than judging it...but, all this aside, it is still cringeworthy that we think a boy dreaming of being a trained killer, or murderer really, brainwashed into conquering sovereign countries because the US doesn't like their politics is an honorable thing and worthy of support. Yes, sadly, nations still need defensive militaries but maybe it's time to rethink the concept of nations and to also come to terms with the reality that the military is almost always offensive but makes us think they are simply defending. This is a horrible way to address a boy's life-threatening struggle. Let's pretend to be a killer! The irony is lost on people. And while I know I will get skewered for this comment by most people the irony of them blasting me for what I say will be lost on them given that one of the insane justifications for the genocides led by the US military is to defend free speech! Yes, I realize this is all part of the con game too...
