Bobby Pulio really have distinctive bigger picture about culture significance of skateboarding. Yes the board with four wheels is the basic, the center, of it, but there is lot of things that became part of the culture. Moment when he start talking about it is at 1h:40min. I love this episode just because Pulio actually dissect the whole skateboard culture.

Life is not always ideal or predictable and so it is best to go with the flow even when things don't exactly fit.. a bit confused that he hasn't seemed to realize this by now. admittedly hearing him speak kinda bummed me out.

Totally agree this "interview" was insufferable. His excuses about why he didn't have a part in Bag of Suck were so pretentious. He really bummed me out when he talked about "branding" in terms of the part he didn't feel like filming in San Jose. Like he's so above skating anywhere that isn't New York City. Get over yourself bruh. I quit listening when he said the word, "esoterica" and wasn't kidding. Totally full of himself too. Agenda was all about all the companies he rode for and how great he is, ignored Crob and Kelly and Rog like they weren't even there from the get go. He sidestepped every question by slowly stuttering and then just saying whatever he wanted instead. Awful.

This is an episode I've been hoping and waiting for a long time. Love Bobby and him talking puts a smile on my face. My spirit animal. Still skate 7,5s and 7,75s myself. I could relate to that wheel story so much, I remember skating home in the dark one time, there was this hill and I thought it would be great to bomb it since there was no traffic at all and I had brand new set of bearings as well. At the begining of it I see my wheel travelling all on it's own and going next to me. I'm like 'awww man'. Went back to the spot with a torch, going up and down the road and sidewalk. I found the wheel and the bolt as well, but the saddest part was that the bearing (or both of them, I can't remember) were gone. Spent good amount of time searching it in the middle of the night and just couldn't accept the fact that where it could have disappeared.

He’s cool. I’m stoked that his stories go all the way back to 85! I totally understand what he’s talking about seeing the Lester, Miller, Smith and Phillips. Those graphics were so colorful and intense! It was the beginning of a new era, and we had never seen anything like those skateboards that looked so amazing. Big wide decks with crazy color combinations. It was so new and so rad it could really blow your mind!

It’s cool and also strange hearing skaters talk. Skating in the late 90s and 2000s it was mostly print media and a selective few video parts where you could pick up a bit of personality from your favorite skaters. 2 that always stood out were Dustin Dollin singing at the start of his Baker 2G part, and Josh Kalis talking in the reason, “skate, chill, run from the cops, smoke a blunt”.

Ha I saw the other side of that Courthouse incident on The Come Up. He tried so hard to stop but bookin it without brakes, whoah skater's crossing. It ended up not being bad at all. What's his face wasn't having any of the riders multiple apologies though.

Bobby Puleo. Damn; so great to see you on the net’s best skate retrospective talk show. “Hobbiests” is the greatest term to coin the current “mass wave” of new skaters today. It’s the same sort of thing that happened very mildly in the mid-90’s, but has EXPLODED as a now “retro-revival” activity. The core culture is surely being over-saturated with fad-posers via over exposure. Justin Bieber is a “skater” now because it’s a hip thing to do and helps people like that to cling to a popular relevancy. Great show guys, and thank you.
