Bobby Lord was one of the best friends a song writer ever had. He sang from the mountaintop. Most other voices compared to him were merely shadows on the wall. 👍👏👍👏👍

WOW!!!!! What a song. And what a singer. And what a person. I had heard of him and remember his voice, but he was to early for me to appreciate country yet.

He should be in the Country Music Hall Of Fame- if he isn't already.

I've tried for years to find a clip of Bobby Lord performing "Life Can Have Meaning"; I can't even find his music on Rhapsody. Bobby is one of the artists I remember well from childhood; my dad loved country music, and there wasn't a country music tv show we didn't watch -- Porter Wagner, The Wilburn Brothers, etc. At that age I had mixed feelings about the music, but some of it stayed with me a lifetime, including my memories of Bobby Lord. He always seemed so kind, & he could sing a song!

Watched his TV show many times in the mid to late 50s. This song was one of my favorites. Thanks for the upload. There are actually a couple of CDs of Bobby Lord now from the Rice Records Story people. This song, however, is not on either. It is also possible now to convert to mp3 and download youtube videos. This is a free download and no fees.

He is awesome. I can't believe he wasn't more famous. I know back then he was, but today few know him. I see he had 1 top ten but, for some reason, he didn't get the great music. Why?

He had a great voice. He sang with Patsy Cline. People only commented on her voice. Typical.

Watched the Bobby Lord Show every Saturday on WSM when I was growing up. Mr. Lord came to Paris, Tn.'s Worlds Biggest Fish Fry back then and I was on the front row, Wish his albums were on CD.

All these years after the comments below, I, someone who's just discovered this artist, should like to ask if his devotees know about the Bear Family release of his early recordings, (in the quite dissimilar rockabilly style !), including the only one I knew, ' Everybody's Rockin' Except Me ' ?. Here on You Tube he can now be seen saying to an audience his worst ever song was ' Pie Peachie ', which, according to what I've read, was quickly written for him in the studio by Boudleaux Bryant as the B side just so an A side could be released. And when you listen to it, a contrary opinion is hard to think of. The voice had certainly matured by the time this was filmed.

The world of music has gone from the sophisticated and sublime style of Bobby Lord's era to the mostly whining no talent era of our current times .

butters587. Your Grandfather was a great singer. I loved his show. Jerry Whitehurst (piano) was one of my musical heroes. This show inspired me to a country music career that is still going. Do you know if there are copies of his show on DVD? They would be a treasure.

This is well sung, but my preference goes to Faron Young's recording of this song.
