Bobby Lee, Can You Go Beyond the Comedy? | Ep 5 | Soul Boom
GLITCH-FREE RE-UPLOAD: • [RE-UPLOAD] Bobby Lee,...
Comedian and actor Bobby Lee (Tigerbelly & Bad Friends podcasts) joins Rainn Wilson for a profound conversation exploring spirituality, redemption, and the intricacies of human emotion. Bobby shares candidly about his personal struggles with addiction, the impact of significant life events on his sobriety, and his journey towards spiritual and emotional healing. Bobby discusses the false spiritual experience that performing onstage can often give him. The two delve into how different, seemingly meaningless encounters with certain individuals throughout life can be transformative.

I hope Bobby sees this comment, I know he sometimes feels or says that his career as a comedian isn't as meaningful as it cracks up to be to the public eye or he doesn't see whether or not his existence as a comedian makes a difference in the world, but it did at least to me personally. I have an older brother who was diagnosed with schizophrenia at the age of 18, he is 10 years older than I am, but before his mental health really started to decline, we would watch Mad tv together and loved seeing Bobby on the skits and segments particularly. Some of my fondest memories with my brother is from watching comedy and stand ups from different comedians. Once my brother's mental health took a toll on him and our family, I lost our sibling connection with one another and it became very hard to even hold a conversation sometimes, schizophrenia robbed him from the brother i used to know and love. However, sometimes when i do see him and we have a talk we always like to bring up some jokes and comedians we loved and Bobby always comes up when reminiscing... So what im trying to say is, even if you don't think you've made much of an impact, there are people who you have made a difference to whether you know it or not. So thank you Bobby for being that small thread of sibling connection for my brother and I to still have even in the slightest form. ❤

I am a long time fan of Bobby Lee.. I started crying when Bobby was describing doing the Super Bowl show and sitting with himself realising and accepting that he deserved to be there. Bobby can pull a reliable 300k views of damn loyal fans - very few comics/celebs have that pull beyond being a taste of the week Bobby has a legit Slept Kingdom who will fight for him. 2024 is his year and we are ready to raise our Slept King to his throne. 30+ years Bobby endured and he opened doors for all the funny Asians we see today who aren't just stereotypes. Now, he holds the door open for the new generation of American-Asians and it's beautiful to see. I grew up in the 90s, and finally I'm a part of the game, not just watching anymore Thank you Bobby Lee ❤

Such a beautiful episode. I love misfits among the misfits . I think it was so powerful when Bobby was saying about saying "I am so proud of you" in the tub. That was very moving specially after all that he has been through. Also, Rainn i loved when you talked about getting vulnerable with your son. That is so beautiful Rainn. Walter is very lucky to have you as a dad. If parents could express more vulnerability instead of just "giving orders", a kid would grow with much more closeness and trust with their parents. I so agree. My cousin and her daughter met him in London as they part of the same Faith (Baha'i Faith). They love his humour, his authenticity, his kindness, generosity etc
I love Bobby ♥️he inspires me to stay sober , I watch his podcast and it brings so much laughter and joy that I need so desperately in my life so thankful I found the podcast as well.
Hope Bobby Lee feels bad for sexually harassing George on Logan’s podcast, that was sick and should be talked about more.
