I know the band since the nineties but this is the first interview with Gillespie that I see. The guy seems to be a very interesting conversation partner, whether you agree or not with his opinions.

Actually, I think marches do make a difference. It may well be that government ignores them. It might be that nothing comes of them; but a politician, though determined to write them off in their own mind, however hard they try to ignore them, they cannot pretend that there isn't a proportion of people that disagrees with them. Also, I think it gives folk a collective strength and tangible proof that there are others that feel the same way.

Heroine dealers should always give him 10% for best advertising (meaning he's surprisingly still alive) ;)
