Don Was said a few years ago his gig with Weir has been the most musically rewarding of his career. Pretty high praise from a guy with his resume.

Nice vocals, but since it's about being on the lam I prefer the faster version on American Beauty.

Without Jerry singing, all the pathos is removed from this song.

3 Minute I really, really enjoyed this ^ version but your comment made me stop and think. You really are exactly right. Both are great though. James Santos, try some Garcia times.... throw in a Black Peter or 2 while you're at it.

Actually, he's spot on. On this and several other songs. Occasionally delivered with his desperate, sad pathos that the frontiers of the american west delivered in trainloads.
