The problem with Bob Sapp was that physically he grew up quite huge, but mentally he remained a bullied child who one day, it appears, suddenly discovered that he had power. But without developing sound techniques, he could not exploit his power. His power became his limitation.

I've always enjoyed Bob Sapps brutal style and even his comically telegraphed punches. He was one of a kind though and was interesting to watch. He was a beast for sure.

Not true. He was big but his strikes weren`t so effective. Zero techniques. Most of the power of puch comes from technique, not from muscle.

@@zdenekburian-bc9hmI mean look the best build for a fighter is long and lanky, carrying that much muscle is almost detrimental and if you have to drop the power by 50% less than halfway through the fight because your gassing out it’s almost like you’d hit harder aswell by losing some weight. And Cro Cop back then was a savage sure he had some losses but look fighters have injuries and sometimes they don’t show up at 100% cro cop not the guy who’s going to pull out of a fight but if he shows up ready your fucked.

You can see all of his strikes coming from miles away. But if you make just one mistake and eat one punch, I can guarantee that you'll turn into a stationary punching bag and you'll eat every single strike after that, and wake up on the ground.

Sapp never wanted to fight to start with. He was going broke. People around him talked him into it. Told him with his size & power he had a real chance at winning. So, he enter a K1 tournament and won. Later in his career he started taking dives for easy money. His under the table deal was that he'll agree to give it all he's got for 60 seconds and then he's going down.

Ernesto Hoost was not in his prime almost 40 years old. There were only 2 weight classes at K-1. He also had big troubles against Semmy Schilt later on, who was not as powerfull as Sapp but a high skilled kickboxer. If he might landed one kick to the liver instead of low kicks it would've been over pretty soon. But that's easy to say. I mean even if you are Mr. Perfect, hitting someone with a low kick who's thighs are much bigger than yours is kind of useless.

He is real legend.

Хуст профессиональный боец, но в его технике есть один большой пробел - полное отсутствие уклонов корпусом и обманных движений, именно из-за этого он и проиграл Сапу. И даже никто из команды Хуста этого не понял, ни с первого раза, ни со второго. Удары Сапа были отчётливо видны, но Хуст предпочитал не уклоняться, а принимать всё на себя, и результат не заставил себя ждать.
