Bob's Mogul Camp At Mary Jane Ski Area Colorado - Day 3 - 3/4/2018

Спорт

Welcome to Mary Jane at Winter Park Resort in Colorado, home of Bob's Mogul Camp. It's the last day of a three day camp [see links to Day 1 and Day 2 below] and the students have fallen into a rhythm. Get up early, eat breakfast (or not), show up at the meeting room, and slide on (wedge on, force on) those comfy ski boots. Today, it's more bumps, turns, and instruction. And bumps. It's a great finish to a great ski camp! Bonus: See Bob Barnes ski Outhouse top to bottom, non-stop.

I'll never do this in this lifetime, but these videos are so much fun to watch. The beauty of the country is stunning, and listening to the wind, the crunching snow, and the swoosh swoosh is just great. I put your videos on as background ambience, and it looks amazing on my 60-inch screen! Thanks so very much for posting these videos, I really appreciate it. Be safe out there.

I wanted to see some straight line mogul skiing. That's the right way, all I saw was traversing across the trail with wide turns and looked like you guys were trying to avoid them. By the way, I was a ski instructor and use to teach aerials and mogul skiing.

Good for you. This clinic is not intended to teach straight line ( zipper line ) moguls. For that you probably want to search John Smart or Chuck Martin.. clinics to name a few. To ski zipper line bumps you better be very well fit and young.. Certainly not me.

@@rafaelfalagan3814 You can be older and very fit and still ski zipper line moguls. Just cut out the airs and reduce the speed a bit. You better have the technique down (full absorption, extension with good ski to snow contact) or else it will be too late to master as you age. Going a bit longer with ski length can also help smooth out the ride, but once again, you need to really be advanced at this point. I am on 182 Twisters. Even in my low 50s, I still enjoy bump skiing. No more OL for me if the bumps are huge though. This is where I primarily fine tuned my mogul skiing. I prefer only moderate sized moguls at this point, it’s easier on the body. I have always enjoyed watching Chuck Martin Ski at Killington. I hope to move out to the Winter Park area within the next 2 years.

@@frost6311 i'm in my low 60's and I love skiing bumps. I've been trying how to figure out to ski bumps well for many years. At my home Mt. we have bump lines ( zipper lines ) made by hand with the shovel by the freestyle team. Huge difference between this kind of bumps and the ones in this video. Probably Bob's videos are the best bump clinics I've seen for "advanced non zipper". I love Killington. I always take a trip there every year for a couple of days.

@@rafaelfalagan3814 I am from the older school of bump skiing. I really don’t care for the synthetic man-made angular bump courses. I will take skier created (tight/rounded) bumps any day, as long as they are made by awesome mogul skiers. Mogul formation is only as good as the skiers that created them.
