I’ve replayed that part at 5:55 so many times. I just can’t wrap my head around it. Absolutely masterful playing

I remember discovering this video right as I was getting into playing bass in 2012. It was so instrumental in my interpretation of understanding exactly what bass improvisation was/is. I come back to this video from time to time when I need a pick-me-up, so thanks Bob and Janek for making this a thing!

a really fantastic solo from You, Janek! Very deep and so melodic but also with insides and outsides!

Janek's grooves are pure thunder. His phrases stick in my head for weeks. Straight burns too, but very selectively unlike half the ass clowns who finish an orientation at Berkley and have the feel of Terry Shivo.

Man, the low end on the keys is cutt'n hot during Janek's solo! We'll, atleast during the begining. Then he gets lazy. Every keyboard player should learn from this dude and hear how you properly support a bass player during a solo (the beginning of the solo that is)
