Bob Marley: One Love | Kingsley Ben-Adir, Lashana Lynch and Reinaldo Marcus Green | BitarSweet 003
Bob Marley is one of the most iconic and transcendent humans in history.
Ahead of the official release of Bob Marley: One Love on 14th Feb, I sat down to interview Kingsley Ben-Adir (Bob Marley), Lashana Lynch (Rita Marley) and Reinaldo Marcus Green on how they wanted to portray the icons involved.

This man's name is Kingsley Ben- Adir. He did a phenomenal job as Bob. Lashana did an excellent job as Rita. (Ben Kingsley is the baldhead little British man who played Gandhi)
It was more than "spontaneous dancing", i believe he was in a trancendental state - spirit filled.
Ziggy said he looked at all of the auditions. He was expecting/hoping to find a Jamaican, but it was Kinglsey's audition that made him say, "Hmm."
Lashana played Rita to the Letter! Fight me on it 😂
As a fellow Shepherd's Bush/West Londoner I really appreciated the love and rapport in the segments with Lashana - born to be the Star that she is. A great interview all round. Props to you🙏
Wonderful interviews. Your rapport with each individual was great to watch. Big props for giving Lashana her flowers.
Love this Karima ❤❤
Wonderful interview ❤
Nice episode ❤
❤❤❤...
Did the selection had nothing to do with Paramount pictures 🤔
❤️💛💚🖤👌🏿🆙
There was a reason why Jamaicans were not chosen, maybe none could handle Bob Marley's roll if so who ? Not son it would not be so interesting

The reason is very simple, Jamaica is a tiny island with barely 2 million people. Jamaicans are like the Jewish people in that for a tiny people they clearly culturally punch above their weight and seem like there are way more And even those are foreign born lack the genuine accent. Because it’s such a unique accent. Other than the sheer lack of a large pool to draw from there is nothing else to it my good friend!

First and Formost Bob was a Rastafari Jamaican Afrikan and that’s why the actors and producers should have visited these Rastafari communities in order to truly understand bobs culture and Rastafari dialect of Hyaric.

As I replied to another comment above. There is simply not a large enough pool of Jamaicans. Jamaicans are similar to Jewish community in that you would think there are 100m+ due to the constant cultural impact. But in reality it’s a very small pool (2 million) and that is the only reason why you have to go with foreigners in this case. A CITY in America with 2 million people would be considered a rural area small town) this is an entire country Even 1st gen Jamaicans born abroad struggle to duplicate the genuine accent
