Really? I always thought they should use 20th Century Boy by T-Rex as the opening, then this as the outro. Then during THAT episode (if you know you know), they could switch the outro to the acoustic version of Bob Lennon that Kenji performs in the subway.

Yes, Kenji did not perform Bob Lennon in the alien invasion arc of the manga. The reason is manga Kenji is still haunted by his depression of having let the world down on Bloody New Year's Eve of 2000 that he no longer wants people to recognise him as the Bob Lennon song guy.
