Bob Dylan & Joan Baez Sing Together, 1965 ["DON'T LOOK BACK" OUTTAKE]

INFO & TRACKLIST BELOW:
Happy New Year, everyone. This is a very special upload. I had heard the audio of Bob and Joan singing these songs since getting a hold of The Cutting Edge: Collector's Edition (listen to the full Savoy Hotel session here: kzread.info/head/PL8.... However, I didn't think I'd find footage of them singing the songs, other than what was released in Don't Look Back. I managed to collect these clips from various sources including DVD bootlegs and another great channel, Peter Stone Brown Archive. After restoring these clips, I’m pleased to be able to share this little piece of music history with you.
In terms of restoration, I sharpened the image and brightened it as much I could (many shots in Don't Look Back were poorly lit and suffer from underexposure). To get the full effect, I recommend setting the video quality to 4K. I also managed to track down remastered versions of the songs played here, which were released only on The Cutting Edge: Collector's Edition. These versions were much clearer, so I overdubbed them to this footage.
TRACKLIST:
0:08 - Remember Me (When The Candle Lights Are Gleaming) [S. Wiseman]
1:20 - More and More [M. Kilgore]
3:20 - Blues Stay Away From Me [R. Delmore, A. Delmore, H. Glover, W. Raney]
5:35 - Lang A-Growing [Trad.]
8:24 - Wild Mountain Thyme [Trad.]
Let Bob and Joan’s singing be a blessing on the year 2021, which I hope will be kinder on us all, and a more prosperous, safe, and healing year than the disaster that was 2020. Good riddance.
Love & Peace,
~SP

Dylan and Baez the greatest soul mates - It's the casual genius in both of them that makes this even more remarkable - It's a rendition that takes you down a different road - the guitar tugs at you and the vocals draw your mind into the place you want to be - home at peace. Then Bob goes rogue - LOL and Baez the soul mate she is doesn't even react. Exactly right - "A golden piece of History" I return to this often. It's healing.

@@allanbriggs807 Yes, his voice was very good in those young years. Kind of hard to listen to him now. Maybe too much smoking. Many years ago when I took a singing/voice class at a junior college (well, now called community college), the teacher once told the class that "smoking can really ruin a singing voice, especially after many years of smoking" and advised our class to not smoke. Probably health reasons were mentioned too, but he was emphasizing the detrimental effects of smoking on the singing voice in this class.

Bob Dyaln always sounds just that bit nicer when he sings with Joan Baez❤. I think he tried harder, because he thought her voice was so beautiful. I've also never seen him so happy as when he sings with her--I've watched several of their duets, and I've hardly ever seen him smile like he does with her. Their friendship was something beautiful... I always think it's a bit sad their romantic relationship didn't work out, but maybe it was for the best.

I’m having a drink on my porch listening to this, and 2021 isn’t even an hour away. This is a good note to close on. It was the start of this year that my heart was punched, and a lot of this year was colored by that. It was that ache that led me to dig deep into the Dylan catalog, filling the hole with his words. Your work here was a part of that. I appreciate it a lot. 2020 is a year a lot of people will remember with a shiver in their bones, but fortunately for me, it was the year I got to know Dylan. That’s gonna last me the rest of my life.

Bob Dylan was and continues to be a song writing laboratory. He is never satisfied with his accomplishments. There always seems to be somewhere else for him to explore and different influences to absorb. This amazing footage shows a young Bob doing just that.

Oh boy did I need this shot of Bob. Robbie's right Bob probably does have every song he's ever heard cataloged in his head. Is the full Pajama song filmed? Omg that smile! 😎 Happy New Year & thank you again for all the solid gold~ 🌟

if u identify for example with a lion you'd have ferocity. Now, if u identify with a human on the other hand i believe it would have to do with the animal of reasoning...thinking through...usage of mind. Now if u add the character of bob dylan for example being that specific animal that uses reasoning a certain way then it is a very much more narrow view than just expressing that a human is your spirit animal (if we put ourselves from a different species perspective).

Sorry I got to this one late, nice editing & restoration, I really enjoy these group of songs Bob & Joan Baez are singing together . Even Albert Grossman seems to be enjoying it, I need to here the Cutting Edge collectors edition for these songs too. The audio you found is crystal clear & goes perfect w/the video. The whole portion of this outtake is very laid back & nice when in juxtaposition to the basic mood of Don’t Look Back which is edgier I think. Well peace to you Swingin Pig & everyone in 2021. Thank you for keeping the spirits up!

@@patriciaamato4263 I didn’t realize that when I first listened to this. I know other people interfered with their relationship jealous of the creativity they shared I guess and wanting to get in more with Bob. If it had to end it should not have ended like that and friends and other musicians should have minded their own business but were controllers. manipulative, petty, and gossipy too! Despicable - the lot of them!
