BOATING to the Bahamas Fishing for BIG Mahi Mahi & Yellowfin Tuna [Catch and Cook]

Boating from the Florida Keys to the Bahamas in our Contender Boats Center Console in order to go fishing for Big Mahi Mahi and Yellowfin Tuna! We take you with us on our Bahamas fishing trip where we get into a tuna frenzy and get tight on a Giant Mahi Mahi. We start the day by heading to our local tackle shop to acquire live bait to do some live bait tuna fishing. Once we acquire bait, we cross over to our first Bahamian Island, Bimini. Boating to the Bahamas can be tricky so we take our time boating from Florida to the Bahamas but once you get there its an unimaginable feeling! Once we arrive in Bimini we check into the customs and head the boat north to do some Bahamas Yellowfin Tuna Fishing. We spend the day get sharked unfortunately but we eventually make it happen by catching a Blackfin tuna, Yellowfin Tuna & a Dolphin, Mahi Mahi, or Dorado. Boating can be dangerous in the dark therefor as the sun sinks we make our decision to head towards west end and end our day fishing for Mahi Mahi and Yellowfin tuna in the Bahamas. The next day we get and early start and cross the boat back over to the Florida Keys. Once we arrive back at our home we do a good ole Catch Clean and Cook, but not just any catch clean and cook... A Bahamas Catch Clean and Cook!

Recipe:
Honey 2oz
Sesame seeds 1handful
Soy sauce 1/2 cup
Lemon, juiced 1/2
Ginger, chopped 1oz
Red chili, sliced 1
Garlic, minced 4 cloves
Sea salt. 1 pinch
Spring onion, to taste
Red chili sauce, to taste
Sesame seeds, to taste
Instructions
1. Cut fish into bite-sized cubes. Set aside
2. Prepare the marinade by mixing the soy sauce, lemon juice, ginger, chili, garlic, and sea salt.
3. Mix the fish into the marinade, cover, and marinate for 15-20minutes.
4. In a large pan add oil, pour in the marinade and add the honey and sesame seeds.
5. Mix together until the sauce starts to bubble and gets thicker/saucier.
6. Add the fish and cook for a couple minutes on each side.
7. Take off the heat and garnish with more sesame seeds, spring onion, and red chili sauce.
8. Enjoy!

I recently found the two of you and I absolutely adore the both of you. Originally I'm born and raised in South Philly, moved to Florida 12 years ago. My husband is born and raised here in Florida. Neither one of us have ever been to The Keys. I told my husband I want to go to The Keys he told me that we can not afford The Keys. So, I just will live through the two of you. Oh, and yes he took me fishing a few years back. I love it! I can not get enough fishing. We do own a boat. We fish in the rivers and lakes. But I loved salt water fishing. I don't eat the fresh water fish. Thank you both for sharing your life's with me God Bless You Both
Amazing trip. I lost my dad to cancer, but I still have very fond memories of him taking me fishing when I was little, and then me taking him fishing when I got my boat. Cherish those days guys because when they are gone they are gone.

Best fishing channel on KZread
Thanks for the thrill. Im 74 and my bride is 78....My boat is a 1977 Pacemaker. We made it to Palm Beach Gardens in Feb of 2020 and then the quarantine. We're from Chesapeake Bsy Country and if all goes well next Spring...headed for 1,000 Islands then Canada. Maybe Fla, Dry Tortugas & Bahamas in 2022? If you ever get the chance, you should try fishing the "Lump" out of Venice, LA. It's an underwater salt dome in about 2-3000 ft of water, but the dome is about 600 ft down. During Lump season, late Nov-Feb, the Gulf current hits the dome, causing some crazy currents underneath and brings in a lot of bait fish, followed by the larger predators. You anchor in 600 ft, chum behind the boat, and drift chunks of bait, typically black fin or some other fish and if the Tuna gods smile upon you, it'll be a trip not to forget. My biggest was 115 lb yellow fin, followed by a 65 lb. After that, I didn't want to catch anything bigger, it took about 20 min to get the bigger tuna in. I would post a pic of our haul that day, but can't do it on KZread. Nice vid!

That Bahama water is something else. Get as many of these trips in with you Dad as you can. I lost mine 11 years ago and the memories from our shared interests always bring a smile to my face. Can’t wait for more fishing with Stephanie too!!!!!!
