Very nice and complete video. I had been jumping back and forth watching videos for individual parts of boating, which many times were not consistent or even contradicted each other. I just purchased my first boat, and I feel like this video is all I need to get to the lake for the first time on my new boat. Very easy to understand and it also made it harder for me to wait until the weekend to go to the lake. This video makes boating look so relaxing and fun and easy to do that I can hardly wait until I'm on the water. Great job guys

Oh yes it does. When you need those open canoe paddles, you need a paddle exactly your size. Sit down, put the hand rest on yer chair, the paddle blade should be located right above your eyes. Not lower, not higher. How are you gonna paddle with a paddle too short or too long? Buy some GOOD paddles, please, you'll feel the difference. Paddling in tandem is complicated. You should master at least four different paddle strokes, or you'll waste your energy, zig zagging around. They didn't say a word about it. And one day you might need that skill. Just saying. So, you two, do a course on open canoeing. You might love the lack of a roaring engine all the F time. Those vintage fishing boats are a pain in the ear. Use ear plugs, and give them to everybody hearing your boat.

Before you even go to the launch, the day before run your engine for a few seconds, you don't want to find out you have a engine problem when the boat is in the water.

THANK YOU for making this boating tutorial. I saw a couple of issues, possibly different in Australia than in the 🇺🇸...In boat basins, (where boats park), there's a law that states NO WAKE. There are also usually floating buoys with NO WAKE written on both sides of a white sign with Red Lettering. So you putt-putt-putt to your destination so it doesn't jostle the boats parked. I watched this video to help me remember the Red "Nun buoy," I think, is on the right, going upstream and the black with white top on the Left. I also was hoping it would show the different types of "Throwables" that were condoned as standard boater's Safety Equipment, the different sizes of Fire Extinguishers that are required for what sized boat, How many paddles to carry and what kind and or made from what, (if it makes a difference), I've heard tell something about a kill-switch you have to have connected to the boat Captain's clothing, and whether its a law to use a boat tie-down STRAP or ROPE. There's nothing about Navigation of rivers nor streams...just sea waters. I realize your area is OCEAN. I appreciate that, as well. I'm STILL LOOKING for my other answers. If you know these answers, and you do make another video, it will be great !!! THANKS AGAIN

In Aus i think there is many things that differ not only from the U.S but from state to state . We have our water ways in classes such as , smooth waters , partially smooth and off shore , our laws change in requirements not only from state to state but also in water class , life jackets kept on board to life jackets must be worn by persons under a certain age to life jackets must be worn at bar crossings by all but can than be taken off . Flare kits for diffrent water classings as well as coms is not something by boat size but by where u intend to take ur boat no mater the size . My state just says a secondary mode of purpolsion - a paddle , ores , elec motor ,a 2 stroke kicker or a twin motor vessel all fit this law , common sence would state u are not going to try and use a paddle on a 30foot boat . Fire fighting equipment is prity much a standard 1kg powder type by law and possiblay a fire blanket if u choose , Each state law is diffrent but in my state all straps need to be load rated and so do chain shackles , previous to that law i always used rope and never had a problem but to stay on the safe side of the law i now use straps . From wat i understand our Nav is diffrent to the U.S , we line our colours up wen comming in from sea -( red to red , green to green ) and wat i have read from folks in the keys area they line there colors up wen heading out to sea . Over here we are to stay on the right hand side of a cannal or narrow river as if it where a road .

Powering onto a trailer is not always a good idea. some ramps the concrete does not go far enough and your prop wash undermines the ramp and leaves a big hole for a trailer to fall into when launching at a low tide

All it takes is good old fashioned stupidity to do thousands of dollars worth of damage to a perfectly good boat so if you're new to boating do some research before diving right in it's a lot to learn
