Boat Tour: A Close Look at a Seawind 1600 Passagemaker SV Womble after 13,000 nm miles
This is just a fun boat tour that we did with @SailorJames . We had a great time sailing together on Womble comparing all the practical aspects lessons that are picked up from sailing offshore for sustained periods. At the time of this clip we have completed 13000 miles coming from East Coat of America across the Pacific to arrive in New Zealand. You can follow James on Sailing Triteia. He is a single handed sailor with a pretty amazing background and track record.

So happy Womble took time to participate with James on Yarns . The the couple and happy to find a new SV Womble KZread channel, I’ll be happy to share
Great video. Absolutely beautiful boat, looking and sailing. Seawind 1600: Top of my list. I was in a test spin 8 knots wind 8 knots with the asymmetric. That's why a performance cat. I like the mention that powered winches are to save ten minutes of cranking, not so much for power. (I usually power the sail up and then tighten it with the handle.) And yep, my Selden in mast sail jammed again when I tried unfurling it so I could adjust the vertical tensioner (to help keep this from happening). A bit like not being able to get to the spare tire because you have a flat. In about a year, ask me again about in mast furling. Good point the boom rigging is easy with two people. Some have complained about it: they were working solo. Flexiteak is a great surface, but cat sailors I know say it's a lot of weight and you should only get it when the gel coat starts getting cracks and crazing. I calculated just the aft Flexiteak on a 1600 as over 300 lbs (135kg , back of the envelope, not an official number.) So James, want to do some cat sailing? re: The storage cabin. I just figured out for my center cockpit 45' with the huge aft cabin: Raise the bed about 16" (60 cm) by building a 1/2" baltic birch plywood box (slat stringers on the new bed platform so open space below. I've supported a bed before with 1/2" luan and that worked great). Then I'll have a queen sized storage locker for all the crap that's piled up in my bow pullman berth. I like the gas lifters. I was thinking of just a block and rope to lift the bed up and hold it. All that will show is the pad eye on the ceiling.) My goal is to make it so it will fit my asymmetric (maybe a longer but flatter bag).
Thanks for the tour. Great to see you guys meet up with James. That surrounding bay reminds me so much of Point Loma in San Diego Bay. Since the days of Americas Cup. There has been a large number of NZ sailors who have migrated to the area. Hope to see more posts in the future. Cheers
Nice collaboration
Beautiful catamaran, ty for sharing ❤
Lovely couple. They are super nice.
amazing womble can really be a huge attraction i think you guys should acquire some cameras and produce some content as i know many would enjoy it man ide love to live this kinda lifestyle so amazing so beautiful ❤❤❤❤
Thank you for the Boat Tour. I just saw the 3 year Review from Wanderlust and their Videos on all the damage on their rig, rudder system and autopilot. Then I heard you talking about dialing in the boat when hand steering until there is little to correct and then activate the auto pilot. I think many sailors should have started sailing Dinghy. You get a great feeling for a boat. Did you have similar damages on your boat while handling it the way you mentioned? Wanderlust is hull #6, do you have a hull of similar age or maybe already an updated hull? Best Regards!
Cool
ill buy this boat in 3 years.. its a shame the passmaker lost the wood decking though.
I want to remix the audio and take out the visitor so I can turn the volume up and here the valuable info this couple is providing.

With Bluetooth hearing aides, the camera person sounds as if he is booming into the microphone while the gentleman speaking is very low. Turn up to hear the owner then get blasted by the cameraman. Without remote microphones, maybe be more aware of how close you are to the microphone and move away from it while filming.

Sounded pretty good with the stock iphone speakers!
Nice One James Come on S/V WOMBLE get the finger out and make the odd video Please
Even though its a 16000 the bridge deck looks full with the gallery up. You seem to have lost a lot of space on the bridge deck.
No need to scoff at a washing machine. Essential for cruising. Are the front windows glass? How much freezer space?
Say hello from me 🇬🇧🧙♂️ for obvious reasons other than its sailing and their on a 🐈.
¿May I suggest you buy some wireless microphones?
Oh please, take the guy with the funky earrings out of the video. His audio is too loud, adds no content, and distracting.
