I’d get rid of any plywood and use a Coosa board and gel coat it white or use some Starboard.

Also if you cover those side supports on either side of the engine you could insulate them and keep the motor noise down in the cockpit area

Very nice! Are you going to do the upholstery yourself? Will be interested in seeing how thats done and how well it turns out. Nidacore or other honeycomb core is a lot lighter than plywood and it never rots if it gets wet. Glasscloth laminated on both sides makes it real stiff but it can be bent into curves before laminating if you need a curved part. Unlike foam core, the nidacore does not dissolve in polyester resin. It is a polyethylene honeycomb structure inside and has a furry fabric bonded to the outside which lets resin flow into the fibers and make a super-strong bond to the core. For non-structural parts like the vertical sides of your box, just one layer of lightweight 3 or 4 oz surfboard glasscloth will make an unbelievably light yet strong panel. For more structural things a layer of 1708 biaxial is usually enough. If your putting down more than one layer of the 1708, then alternate 1708 with layers of normal weave cloth. The biaxial has fibers running on the two 45 degree angles and normal weave is on 90 and zero degrees, so a layer of 1708 and a layer of normal weave will give you fibers running in four different directions instead of two. The final laminate is much, much stronger than it would be if you used two layers of 1708 or two layers of normal weave. Might work well on the top of your box where the girlfriend will be sunning herself in a bikini. Be sure to upload video. In central florida, I get nidacore at Fiberglass Florida in Rockledge. Elsewhere, ask about it in a shop that specializes in fiberglass and resins and stuff.

@@ZachsGarage1 There are special types of foam for outdoor cushions. Be sure not to get the ordinary foam rubber used for indoor sofas and stuff. That soaks up water like a sponge, gets incredibly heavy when wet and takes forever to dry, not to mention the mold. Outdoor cushions have a special foam that lets water run right through. The bottoms of the cushions are covered in mesh that lets water run through unlike the water resistant cover that goes on the sides and top. Outdoor cushions are a problem I have not yet tackled because I keep looking for better options. One option would be those big, floating mats that kids jump on when it floats on the water, like these. www.amazon.com/Floating-Rolling-Pillow-Tear-Resistant-Roll-Up/dp/B08DXX463W/ref=sr_1_4?dchild=1&keywords=floating+mat&qid=1598726529&sr=8-4 They come in all different sizes so you can find one big enough to cut down to fit any size area where you want a cushion. They are kind of thin, but designed not to absorb water at all. I'm wondering what type of glue should be used to glue several layers together to make a thicker cushion. I'll be interested to see what you come up with. If you find a good solution, it will help a lot of people. A good waterproof outdoor cushion plan that is easy to DIY would be real helpful to a lot of us.

Prop the hood, and if I need even better access take the 2 bolts out of the back of the seat to move it out of the way

@@ZachsGarage1 it was the small little flip up piece that was the back rests for the rear seats. I see half of the hinges still attached to your boat. Next to the blower. holes.
