Doesn't appeal in my humble opinion and I do surf overhead and capable my deal is having that feeling of the wave the chop the chatter you get flying down a face digging in a rail smacking of the lip I am sure there is a spot for them in super fat waves but even then I would prefer a 14ft just because I like the contact with the wave just my opinion

Actually, it is like a different sport. I would say SUP foiling is as different from SUPing than SUPing is from shortboard prone surfing. The good point is that it complements SUP surfing nicely: Foiling is better in fat waves, with a bit of onshore winds. I have not a lot of sessions under my belt, but up to now, the choice between SUP surfing or SUP foiling was kind of obvious, depending on the conditions. But just like only a very small minority of surfers also SUP, I only see a minority of SUPers foiling. You need to have an open mind and want to experiment (very rare among surfers), the budget, and the waves.

I think KAI says it the best: I ride waves, the equipment I use to do that is my art of surfing. I have windsurfed and surfed since my teens. I started paddlesurfing like 5 years ago and people were really giving me alot of shit for it. Now I am a better surfer because of it because my range of surf grew. I went windfoiling a month ago and what a feeling, it is super awesome. What I like about this development is that your range of options for water-time have just blown up! I can go windsurfing in 30 knots no waves, go surfing in big wind and waves, go foiling in no wind some shitty swells and even windfoiling in 8 knots with TINY equipment. I cant wait to have foiling in my quiver.
