Board Locking With Chests

Shadowcasting in modern Wild Hearthstone is very easy using Scabbs and Shark. This time we are board locking with Marin's chests.

    @@TheAce12570 Again, I've seen Dane playing it live for hours and the struggle against aggro is the inevitable one of any other control/combo deck, with the difference this deck can armor counter on huge scsle at turn 4 or 5 whike keeping restarting resources in hand to retaliate. I do not ask to be trusted, check with your own eyes. Also note that Dane is capable to confidentlt pilot this deck only after hours of trials and adjustments in both deck building and deck maneuvering. E.G. Note that the final version of the deck uses a single copy of Dragon Call

    If people weren't solely interested in decks I like to call "Push the 'I Win' Button Decks", Wild could be something amazing and full of rich enjoyment. I mean, do people realize that if they just sacrificed 3% on their winrate they could be part of creating something wacky and, ya know, wild? Thanks for showing how ridiculous and fun Wild can be.

    @@sergi1684 Different people have fun in different ways. I also prefer playing jank, but a lot of people derive the most fun out of playing a strong deck and winning a lot. It's not for you to dictate how other people should play a game.

  • @zaksmith1035

    @zaksmith1035

    @@etherealg3940 Definitely true, but it does make me question why they play at all. If there was a game called "The 'I Win' Button" where all you did was press a button and it said "You Win!!!", it feels like some of these players would never stop playing. And yeah, their time, their money, their decision, but really, you wouldn't have more fun if maybe you had to make a decision in there somewhere, and actually throw down a strategy or two of your own? It's not that I'm telling them that they shouldn't do their life, it's that I try my hardest to put myself in their shoes and figure out just what they're trying to accomplish, and fail utterly. I can't fathom playing a game where the same old thing is happening time after time, and it requires zero thought from me in setting up or executing things. Am I challenging myself? Am I trying to get better at something? And yes, am I creating mad "jank"? All of these are factors in what makes a game fun for me, and in a game like Hearthstone in particular I wonder why people are looking for "I win" more than "that was super janky". After all, it seems inherent to the spirit of the game that "jank" is the goal, the starting line, and the path to get there. So at the end of the day it's just a failure in my ability to empathize. I'll be left to wonder until the end of time, but wonder I will.

  • @TheSquareOnes

    @TheSquareOnes

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@etherealg3940 I've got to agree with Zak here, there is a difference between "playing a strong deck" and "running the same algorithm over and over to see the victory screen." A deck like pirate warrior for example plays roughly the same 4-6 turns of hearthstone every single match and doesn't even have many decisions to make during those turns since it's mostly just dropping stats on curve. Obviously there are going to be oddball games (like the one in the video for example), but it usually only breaks from the pattern when it's losing and thus those moments are explicitly not the point of playing the deck. There is nothing wrong with taking a tier-1 netdeck in any CCG and trying to pilot it to the best of your ability to win as much as possible if that's what you're into. There is however something very questionable about doing that for hours on end with a deck where skill doesn't matter, you rarely need to make important decisions and just about every single match plays out roughly the same way over and over. With the direction the game has taken that unfortunately describes most of the strongest decks in hearthstone, making the netdeck meta much less understandable to an outsider than it might be in something like MTG.
