Bo Diddley - Bo Diddley (1969)
Музыка
BO Diddley - Bo Diddley, from a more innocent age. Three Guys, a girl with a tambourine and a slightly bemused audience. How thing have progress, not sure for the best. I've posted Tom Petty and Bo performing 'Mona' live; great fun and worth a look.

There is no overstating the greatness of Bo Diddley. Criminally underrated and under appreciated. Guy was amazing.

I saw Bo Diddley in 1982 at the Palladium in NY. He was unannounced in a roster of performers at a benefit for... the Hell's Angels. His performance that evening blew everything else away, especially Jerry Garcia who was the headliner and so wasted by the time he got on stage he could barely move. Bo Diddley played with our heads, moving, shaking, stopping, starting, cracking up, cracking the audience up. Best ever.
They called him The Originator for a reason
a three person band and all that sound.

Well he certainly was by that audience. Did they know they were watching a genius?
At least one guy in the audience was enjoying the music.
Bo Diddley always was something else. His rock, his soul, his funk, they all were always just 100% Bo Diddley doing his thing. Criminally underrated, that guy was one of the greatest ever!

You know, this happens a great deal.... only a few get the fame..... but man there are people like Bo out there that are music incarnated. .. .pure magic. Lots of the 60's bands loved Bo and grabbed at any chance to play with him. . .
BO DIDDLEY, CHUCK BERRY E LITTLE RICHARD FORMAM, NA MINHA MODESTA OPINIÃO, A VERDADEIRA SANTÍSSIMA TRINDADE DO ROCK AND ROLL!
How could the crowd just sit there? I would have been dancing like a fool
1:22....dude with the mustache and frizzy hair gets it! He knows he is witnessing a musical legend!
This is the 1969 performance from the TV variety show “Music Scene.” Most of the crowd considered this tune something old from the Fifties, and not contemporary enough for them. At least that was the vibe from watching the show in its context and the crowd’s muted reaction after the performance. Their loss!
Wonderful and powerful song! It poses an important question - about life!
Holy shit I love Chuck Berry and he's all I've known for most of my life to be a pioneer of rock n roll, but then I read an article comparing him to Bo Diddley. The influence Bo had on rock feels more appartent in terms of the heaviness rock has to this day. Bet back the deep ass palm muted chuggy riffs were so unheard of. I hope Bo is just as celebrated as Chuck as they represent two sides of what makes rock awesome these days. Chuck brings in memorable melody and Bo brings in the percussive rhythms.

Met Bo at a supper club in ellington ct about 30 years ago, spent 30 minutes in the lounge with him before the show started. we had a table right next to the stage, sang word for word with Bo as he did his act. One of the great moments of my life Miss you Bo

I saw Bo perform at a club in the Chicago suburbs in the early '90s. During the opening act, he came out and sat right next to me at the bar. It's about the only time I was too star struck to say hello to a celebrity. I regret not saying anything, but, man, I got to see Bo Diddley in concert. I will always cherish that.
The audience seems oblivious to the very birth of rock and roll. No one gets it.

Bo Diddley - Bo Diddley is very awesome.......
I am becoming obsessed by this video.
I saw him twice play live, he was awesome, a legion of rock and roll.
A short Red 💃and a Tambourine 🤩
I got to see Bo Diddley live in a super small venue called the Golden Bear in Huntington Beach CA (aka surf city--yeah!) and man was he KILLER! Probably about 30 people at tables and Bo blowing the house down. . .must have been about 1969 or 1970. Bo kicks butt!
i really thank old school youtbers for this kind of video. i still like youtube, but the community used to be a lot better
He really knocked it out of the ballpark.
Bo Diddly was a legendary shaker and a mover.
Mr D looks healthy, sober and YOUNG in this video! From the look on Bo's face , he wonders who the hell this audience of DULLARDS are ? Next, searchin' for BO Diddley 1973. I saw him three times in Phoenix , between 1982 and 1987 ; he was the Master.
Looks like the audience is hypnotized by the entertaining they are witnessing. Another great performance by a great entertainer.

??? I was simply stressing how young white people of that era were regularly exposed to white musician's versions of great black musician's songs long before ever hearing the original. As you may know, Elvis made his name with songs written by Big Boy Crudup, and other black musicians while the original authors were shafted.
@bluv6
5 жыл бұрын
@garyp4205 But these people still sit there like stiffs at a funeral while Bo rocks the hell out of it. Like they're scared of the black guy and his loud guitar or something. It's a sorry sight to see a great performer working so hard in front of an audience that's giving him nothing back at all. Compare to the video of Bo Diddley at Madison Square Garden in NYC in 1973 where he and the audience feed off each other with tons of energy.

Funny because in actuality it was rude for them to talk amongst eachother and not pay attention to the performer, they were being rude in all sorts of ways if anything, ruder than any american in most concerts. I would gladly take any audience who would be into my music instead of acting like these fools
