    It was Felix and you can see it slip. Anyone that rides bmx know that feeling, bike is just chilling between your legs and next thing you know the front tire rotates just a tad and immediately slips from underneath you. Always feel dumb when it happens, so I can’t imagine how Felix felt about it, let alone Colin.

    People are hating way too much on this contest not being street enough. Kevin's run was insane and almost entirely street oriented outside of the insane flair at the end. Plus, they did a great job with this course this year. It's very steer oriented, even from a design perspective. The fact is that most street riding in essence is slow, smooth and methodical. Filled with a ton of style and finesse. That's just not the kind of thing that can be captured in a timed run where riders are trying to jam as many crazy tricks together as they can. That alone is going to really hurt the style department. I mean I personally adore when someone like Devon Smillie does a tire ride to suicide no hander off the school sign into a bank. That was so clean and really defines what I love about street, that effortless look. But that is never going to score big in a competition like this. That is what video parts are for, and why they are so much more enjoyable. But if you are one of the people saying this isn't street enough, do yourself a favor and watch the X Games Real BMX Street contest on this very channel. Just a group of most these same riders, at a real legendary street spot, with an hour to pull their best banger. No crowd, limited distractions, just basically a legendary street session where everyone is trying to throw down their very best at the same time. It's by far the best Street contest I've ever witnessed.

I just watched it and it's easily the best street riding contest I've ever seen. So dope.

    That course looks fun but not for X-Games, Kevin Perezawesome absolutely killed but i know 180 flips and stuff exist on the streets but that was pretty much a box jump but it's still absolutely wild . But Reynolds is an APE same with Alex, Felix and i really liked the way Devon rode the course. But I wouldn't want to judge this but KP (not Kevin Porter) had the actual best run. Although normally not the type of riding i can relate to at all, but Johnny is absolutely RIDICULOUS! Just the definition of bike control and parachute pants and crop tops be damned bmx is killing it!!! Thanks for making what we do look sick to your hey let's drink Mountain Dew and go to the X-Games hopefully some kids begged to go to the event or is just watching this instead of the ESPN streams HAILS FOR THE HARD WORK FUDGER! But I remember thinking i needed a chest protector down the trails lol so seriously thank you for making us not look like Overerly serious chodes although i miss announcers just yelling DAVE VOLEKERRRRRRRRRR!!! WHILST RIPPING AT THE QUARTER TO WALL AFTER THE "GATOR PIT"! Clip is embedded in my mind. Daryl kills it but I really miss when no one had any idea commentary wise about what was going on, hilarious stuff and good times. But that roof to ledge just made me want to see a basic but obviously still nutty roof to feeble . 💪💀👍

    His only non-street trick was the flare but since it was on transition and he landed fakie it's still street and was super rad. He had multiple nose mannys, three grinds and a stall. He earned it, the judges know this sport.

  • @scottbradford4130

    @scottbradford4130

    @PlaySA you said it, the non street trick. Is what took it. Everyone went nuts. Like I said I got mad love for Kevin, I'm not taking anything away from his run but other than that feeble 180 he did on that hubba, he does every trick in that line in a park contest. "Judges know this sport" that's funny cause most of em are park riders. It's all luv at the end of the day. Like I said. I luv KP

  • @scottbradford4130
    @scottbradford413010 ай бұрын

    Honestly just get rid of the quaters. Where on the street do you find a perfect quarter with mint transition and coping? Save that shit for park. I know it's always been done like this but that's the problem.

    If you break it down I think that it was an honest win. Boyd and Kevin both came out was a "street" bag of tricks. But the course this time was build for a more flowing "street" style. You can see the more technical riders struggling. Take it back to California last year and the set was super tech, that year we saw the more Tech riders on top. Courses have to change and its free style BMX. Personally I feel this makes BMX street at X-games more fair and keeps it exciting

    All the crybabies comin out of the woodwork. I get it, you wanted Reynolds to get that gold and break the record.. or whatever other reason you had. But Peraza 100% had the best run, and 100% earned that gold. Honestly I think he's actually better at street than he is at park/dirt, and the results this year showed that. Awesome grinds, nose mannys, 360s, fakie riding, only trick that wasn't pure street maybe was the flair but since he landed fakie, sure you could do that on the streets no problem. Anyways, stop cryin

    I think Kevin should doubt himself. Because he didnt even deserve to place in this comp. I mean nothing against him, he is just out there having fun. But gotta call a spade a spade. Clearly there is some huge bias towards him and he scores an extra 5 points than anyone else would get. He still rode great but yeah, popularity contests suck.

    lol complete bullshit. Peraza, the guy who didn't even pass the elimination round in BMX dirt, just won a popularity contest? Keep cryin about street purity or whatever, Peraza had the best line, period. The judges know more about street BMX than you ever will and it's cute that you don't even have a single intelligent thing to say about Kevin's run or anyone else's... just throwing out baseless nonsense about popularity. To each his own I suppose.
