BMX Innovations! The Perry Kramer 27.5" PK Ripper

Спорт

When the original PK Ripper burst onto the scene in 1979, it took the BMX world by storm & set a new benchmark for radness. Here we are now 40+ years later and it’s happening again with the new PK Ripper 27.5, designed by the man himself, the PK of “PK Ripper”, Perry Kramer. This ultra-cool bike features tubeless ready 27.5” x 2.5” Vee Speedster tires, sealed internal headset, internal cable routing, SRAM Level hydraulic disk brakes, Oakley B-1B grips, and of course Perry’s stamp of approval. This is the PK of the future!

Treat yourself. I did. I ride my 29" Big Ripper every day, weather permitting and don’t regret a cent that I spent. Just bought two more for the family so we can all ride together. Got a Maniacc Flyer for the wife and this PK Ripper for my son. Now I get to ride 3 different SE Bikes all week.

rode a pk ripper for 35 years..matter of fact just sent an email to the company last week ....giving them much thanks for the best memories of my life..i sold my pk ripper to a young man who bugged me eternally to sell him my bike and i would always just chuckle and tell him i wasn't done with it...but then one day..he bugged me as usual and i agreed to sell him my bike..i sold that bike for a hand shake..literaly..told him the stories and the history of the bike and how for 35 years it survived everything i ever threw at that bike..the 1 and only bike that never broke.1,000's of jumps and who knows how many miles...told him that he had to ride that bike till he was old and then do the same thing i did..i know that kid was going to ride the shit out of that bike and cherish it..made the whole experience come full circle..i shook his hand and away he went to chime to his friends about the bike he just got for a hand shake...to see SE racing still making and now improving and maker larger ones..just makes my spirit soar and nothing but the utmost respect to SE racing for making the best bikes ever for all these years.

I own a pk ripper frame with Landing gear forks that I traded back in the day with Dave Mirra. We use to sit in his dad's garage and swap parts off our bikes all the time. Matter of fact when I was at a crossroads in my younger life, of being a freestyle bmx'er or guitar player I started getting real heavy into guitar. That after I watched the Movie Crossroads with Ralph Macchio and Steve Vai, I went down in my basement and grabbed a layback GT seat post that use to be Mirra's and grabbed a hack saw and cut my off a finger blues steel slide that I still have and use for guitar playing to this day!

I'm the same age but I never had a PK, but I remember they were just at another level of wicked BMX. All I could swing was a kuwahara, redline and then a gjs. It's amazing modern BMXs really aren't a whole lot different 40 years later! I remember the ultimate stunt was a table top. Lol. Nowadays are doing 720 spins and going upside down!! I wonder what's next?

  • @Think_Up

Perry really put thought into every inch of it. I briefly had one back in the 80's and always missed that rigidity and lightness of the frame compared to my flexy cromo Redline. But being an adult I wished there was something larger and that had disc brakes to be easier on the hands. This bike is like a dream come true and even has a comfortable seat!

Beautiful, I have the beastmode 27.5 ,and my only issues were the tires were u balanced with the giant tubes ,and I switched to formula hydraulic brakes and bam perfect,,nice addition ,the hollow crankset ,I always wondered why they used the super heavy steel crankset on the beast, and not the hollow ,although it's on the monster quad ,and he's absolutely correct on the performance of the 27.5 wheel ,it's still awsome and like a friggn monster truck ,it's still drop 8-10 step staircases ,with the dubble wall and giant tires ,wheels stay laze straight, and yes the wellgo platform peddles that come on it are really nice ,,it's worth the 899 I paid all day !!nice to see it down sizes a bit ,shorter rear, lol Perry your the boss!!!love all my set products ,and yes there attention to detail is quite amazing ,best ready to ride bikes iv bought over my 30 years of riding /racing KSS buffalo NY

I was a little freaked out by the aluminum and the big weld, tig welding at the front neck. As a 12 year old that saved $476.00 I was concerned that aluminum wasnt strong somehow but I grew to love them. A friend named Mark Edwards who I should look up again had one so I got to see it often and admire it. Makes me want to weld up and ultralite frame and build a plane though i dont fly and i can only mig gun aluminum at this time.

Turning 41 in 2 days and just bought myself this bike. Couldn’t believe my local shop got one in the day I called . Haven’t had the chance to ride yet cause of all the rain, but I can’t wait. Although it’s almost to beautiful to ride. Ain’t gonna lie I kinda want to hang it on the wall as art

Was keen on the new DUB 29er but after seeing this whip... god damn she looks neat n smooth. Finally an SE Retro bike without mechanical disc brakes!!!!! I just hope they are decent enough. My mate who owns a bike shop, built my 2018 OM DURO XL n slapped some solid Hydraulics on straight up. Definitely digging the additional front anchors for stoppies. Yep, a lot a fine touches here n there and looks like it would handle like a Boss!!! Tax Return Time here we come!

Back in 94 I worked all summer to buy a pk ripper frame it was purple. Was buying one part at a time and got was down to putting the rims on.... Put the tires on the rims at night and I had school the next day and rushed home to open the garage and was gonna put the tires and rims on and take it on it's first ride.... And only thing I seen was broken glass and a missing purple pk ripper

I like it. Only a few people have it. I went onto the SE site and they don't have it in stock. So I bought the Monster Quad from Planet BMX. Hopefully they'll have some Ripper's by the end of the year.

I guess I was on to somthing when I model my beastmode a bit ,,hydraulic formula f1 brakes ,and lighter crankset ,smaller tires , Bravo!!Perry ,se 26 and 27.5 is the money for an adult looking to shred a bit ,I have se bikes in 26 and 27.5 ,,5 to be exact, don't tell my wife ..lol it an investment but we'll worth the quality and engineering behind it ,,built by riders for riders !!remember that when you question the price ,,and all bikes will need some customizations to make it yours ,Perry your the man !!

I dig this bike. My SE addiction is getting worse. I may need help? Raced a P.K. In 1984. Bought a Big Ripper in 2009, then a Quadangle in 2012, and OM Duro in 2018 and a Fat Ripper in 2020. They have provided days of fun and exercise.
