In this video I show you how to replace the front grill on BMW X7 (G07), which is know as the kidney grills to BMW enthusiasts. This method will work on BMW X5 (G05) and BMW X6 (G06) as well and should take less than 5 minutes to complete. Higher end BMW SUVs come with a few different grills and trim packages, so if you'd like to make your BMW look more upscale, this is a very easy way to do so. If you car has a shadow trim option, this makes even more sense as your glass trim will already be blacked out and the grill will not match perfectly. There are 3 different grills you can install on the BMW X5, X6 or X6. The first is the OEM silver/chrome one which looks nice, but very pedestrian. The second grill is the M-Sport trim, which is the same grill but in all black. The third is the one I'm installing in this video, this comes on M version of the vehicle and had 2 slotted design, also know as the dual slats.

great video and did you try to blackout the chrome piece under the grill as well? would be great to share tutorial as well. thanks
You need to make the rest of the silver colored areas of the grill shutters and lower fascia also black so it matches. Otherwise it looks odd.

I'll get rid of the chrome parts at the bottom, but I like the silver part. It's very subtle in person.
Any idea if the car had the grill iconic lighting if you can swap it as easily?
Have a 22 X5 and did an active shutter delete with a x5M grill and blue on the v brace.it’s my profile pic. And just so everyone knows it’s a M50i with a dähler tune and is faster than a stock X5M comp.
I am somewhat new to z4's. Just bought one a few months ago. Since then I have had to corrext a leak in the oil pan, new struts all the way around and a few other things I have discover. Failing trunk lid seal, tail lights and leather discoloration. How about touch on any of the above. Have you worked on any of these.
