The BMW X5 & BMW iX both do very similar things, they are both large premium SUVs from BMW. They both need to appeal to many people, families, businesspeople and many more, they are roughly the same size, both have high riding driving positions and four-wheel drive. But that's where the similarities end, the BMW X5 is powered by conventional internal combustion engines and the BMW iX is powered by batteries and electricity. So, these are two cars from the same brand which on the face of it aim to deliver similar things but in two different ways.

getting left behind at the charger stations by petrol cars feels very modern indeed.

You both must be deaf. I can hear the wind and tire noise on the iX. There is no way of getting around it. In a few months, it will develop the inevitable creaking from interior parts. Being electric just enhances the sounds even more so.
