07 335i, replaced the bridge seal and all good, perfect following replacement. I hope yours went the same way.

2013 528i xdrive, front bumber collision. Engine runs, wont shit from p to n or drive or reverse. A transmission cooler one line is broke. Planning to replace and next step will be to check transmission fluid level. Assuming if line broken maybe lost some fluid...

Good man, good explanation as well. I have an E90 that also is fine until it warms up, then it doesn't want to hold reverse and throws faults "gearbox malfunction". In ISTA+ it shows as a problem with the FRM, replaced and coded and still have the same issue. Have order the bridge seal and sleeves. Should be good.

@@reallifevideos192 it did solve the issue indeed. I tested the solenoids while I was there as well. The "Bridge Seal" had a crack in it, replaced fluid and gasket, all up was approximately $350 Australian. Very simple job, just over an hour and the car was perfect following the repair. Thank you very much my friend, your video was a god send 😎

I have a 2011 4.4l x5 50idrive I removed the transmission pan and the mechatronic but there was not a valve body adapter inside could there be a different transmission

My 08 bmw x5 show transmission malfunction. Once I start the car it refuses to shift to drive it jump to park. I have a 2011 BMW X3, and it won’t go forward and reverse, sometimes it does. My front differential seems ok and the transfer case. Do you think I’m having the same issue. Although one of my front passenger side axles is wobbly and it would make a grinding noise.

Problem if you take it to a shop they going to say that you need to rebuild your trasmision. Yes is not a big job for someone that knows how to work on cars and have tools.

Would this help on a 2004 BMW X5 3.0 has a hard downshift from 2 to first gear drives perfect besides that

Hi, I have 2004 X5 e53 It doesn't engage into Drive from Parking...I put in Manual Mode into 1st gear, then switch it back to Auto mode, then it works....could this be the same problem?

Shifter solenoid is the most suspected part. Have you tried to read the code?

great video! But my issue is a little bit different :( my 2013 X5 3.0L is slipping when I try to go in every single stop seems like GEARSHIFT 6 to X and have the code 4E9F and 4E70 and the transmission shop told me that I need a new trans !! with only 125k mi any recommendations ?

Hello everyone, my wife's 2015 x3 28d had a drive-train malfunction last Saturday. She came of the hwy and as she was turning right the car jerked twice and then lost power. She pulled over and shut it off. Waited 5 minutes and restarted it. Motor was fine but she could not select gears just stayed in park. Now it got towed to Kingston BMW and they diagnosed it as it needs a new transmission at 15k plus 2500 labour and taxes on top of that. Now the car has never showed any transmission problems until that day. I tried to find out from the service manager to see what part of the trans is faulty but he refused to tell me or they do not know what exactly the problem is. I also requested that he sends me the diag results which i just got today after complaining to BMW Canada about the situation. I suggested there must be another option because i do not have 20k to spend. I bought the car last year in January with 136k kms for 20k and in August the egr cooler caught on fire and the car was at Otto's BMW in Ottawa for the whole month of August. Which they had to replace the whole top-end of the motor because of the damage from the fire. Which BMW covered 100%. Now 8 months later the trans goes out. I kept on asking the service manager to see if there is another option like replacing the part that's faulty or rebuilding it. He just kept on saying the test says the trans have to be replaced with a new one. He also mentioned that they cannot code a used trans because i suggested that and he said they tried one last year and they could not code it so they had to put a new mechatronic unit at the customers expense which was 6k. As of today they still did not tell me what exactly is wrong with the transmission. So i finally got the diag results which is 11 pages. Not sure if any of you guys know how to read them. Any help would be great. I cant post the PDF here or maybe reply to this comment if you would be able to help in finding out what could be the issue. I have worked on cars all my life built motors, turbos and worked mostly on manual trans but i have no idea on all the new electronics crap. I ended up towing the car back to the dealership where i bought the car which is not a BMW dealer and they said will have a look and see what they can do. No it does not need trans, it may just need trans fluid or or the part this guy's talking about, if the car isn't getting enough voltage, may need battery but what I'd do is change trans fluid, pan (check oil) It's BMW dealers job to tell you the worst thing, it's how they make their dirty money. In mean time, put key in but don't start, hold gas pedal to floor for 45-60 secs and it will restart transmission, then start car back up, if that don't work take neg off terminal for few mins to restart computer and then hook it up tight an start car but these are troubleshooting the problems not fixing it, so fix other parts asap so you don't run into more future problems... It may be better to get car in working shape and trading it in. if u got a manual trans u wouldn't come across alot these problems bc only auto on bmw has the transmission failsafe, me myself won't get another auto but I do love bmw's, it's all about maintenance an how well previous owner took care of it.. ppl say they unreliable but I blame it on previous owner neglect

You forgot to mention the 4 valve seal sleeves since you got mechatronics/valvebody out

Are all 07-10 x5 zf transmissions?

Is this Chat still active? I need advice, I have a 2012 E71 (X6) 35i and it won’t go into park (P) The gears all work well but the Park will not engage, I get a Transmission malfunction in P and it goes to N Neutral and flashes. To park I have to engage the E-brake. Any advice?

A bit to late, but i had the same problem. It was the screw on the gearbox for the emergency release of the parking lock. This screw turned upwards by itself and permanently blocked the parking lock lever. The screw must only protrude 1mm and must be secured. Greetings from germany

May I know your model or vin number for me to check if the valve body adapter is compatible with my X5? I need to know before I buy the valve body adapter on ebay

All three that I replaced were 2007 and 2008 3.0L engine. Please check with the BMW dealer. They will give you right part number based on you VIN number.

@@reallifevideos192 My X5 E70 is Xdrive3.0D. Is it the same as your car? Dealership only recommends getting new gearbox and it is simply expensive. Even when I gave them the part number of valve body adapter like you share in this video, they told me it is not compatible with my car. It has been two months since the car broke down and no mechanic is willing to take the job replacing the valve body adapter.

Can you see the parking pawl if you remove the pan?

Yes you will see the parking pawl because it connects the mechatronics

It could be. Check the gearbox oil level too

2010 x5 chugging when driving after acceleration, could this be a symptom? Also the cheap plastic gear wore causing the transfer to malfunction, probably not related, don’t know, spent about $10k on it in last 4 years, other problem related, thanks!

That part, 24 34 7 588 727, is listed for a E53 E63 E65 not an E70. Are you sure you did this on an E70?

I have bmw e60 530i 2010 i m facing an issue when whenever i start my car the gear is engage with propeler shaft and the car is getting little jerk after start then its become ok And this happen only when i start after giving gap 5 to 10 minute ‘ if i will start and stop same time then no issue Please let me know if you have solution for it

If your a BMW owner you need a BMW specific scan tool. The Ancel BM700 does all that you’d need for any BMW. **But I’d do a reset of adaptions that easy. Reset all Adaptions. **

I performed the repair my self with all precautions needed. After repair I have done 1800 kms .. my car is doing well and am happy for that . Thanks to AUTODOC. #autodoc
