Great video. I have a 2022 R1250RT and the fender is a little different but I was able to lift the front of the bike up a little and roll the wheel out. First time taking the wheels off any bike and it went very smoothly. Thanks again. Cheers.

Very "gentle" presentation. ;-) Honestly, I just finished performing this very task on my 2022 R1250RT while watching your video, and it went VERY smoothly. Your instructions were spot-on, and nothing was left to chance. Thank you very much for documenting this; extremely well done.

Thanks. I got very efficient at tire changes on my Blackbird, but I have an RT now, and watching you do the entire process will get me up to speed that much faster.

Can I give a little advice. I am a professional motorcycle tyre fitter and do this sort of thing all day long. When you replace the axle , torque the nut up like you did but do not tighten the pinch bolts yet. What you need to do is push down on the top yoke several times to bounce the suspension with the wheel fully on the ground. By doing this you allow the fatter end of the spindle to move in or out and allow the forks to align properly. Then you can tighten the pinch bolts and the caliper bolt to their torque setting.

That is actually a very good advice! Have learned that years ago with my former cbr 600 RR.

Even though I own two Hondas and not one of these, it's still fun to watch how other people work in the shop. There is always something to learn form others! Thanks for the very details video!

I agree thats the very best think about youtube! All the little tips and tricks. I'm beginning to really like the R1250RT - its a really good all round touring machine. I really wanted the 1250GS, but when I had spec'd up the lowered the suspension, put on the high screen and looked hard at the off road riding I was doing (none) I realised I was trying to build an RT... so I bought the RT instead

Just took the front wheel off my 2021 RT. The new fender has an extra clip on each side, but everything else was the same. Thank you for the video!

Thanks man. Excellent video and right to the point. Just changed the original tires on my 2016 R1200rt (front and rear) and came back to this video several times for reference. I went with Bridgestone Battlax T31 GT's due to the 2021 spring rebates. Getting anxious to get some miles on once all this snow is gone. Thanks for your help getting this done. Nice shop you have by the way. Safe riding.

Great video! I have a quick question regarding the wheel space. It is only on the left side of the wheel as you show it at 8:55 or both sides? I took the wheel off without realizing the spacer exisiting, now I only found one :(

Absolutely perfect! What I needed to see :D The rear wheel should be easy to take out, but the front.... I can now see it will maybe take me a couple of hours, that's it! I will take my time :) One bit I didn't understand, was the right side lock nut, you mention it's to stop the drive shaft from spinning? Was it really necessary? It did not look like it. I do not have one like that - think maybe I can get away with a 3D Printed version of it? Also considering drawing and printing an extension to push the shaft out on disassembly :)

Hi Kamil - Yes I can - I would say its transformed the front end - I will definitely replace the rear tyre with the 5GT when its required.
