BMW R 1250 GS SC Project - MEAN SOUND! [RAW Onboard]

So recently I had to ride this GS fitted with an SC Project exhaust pipe for a work gig. Unfortunately the conditions were terrible but still I wanted to record this one with my Schaaf-method.

    Couldn't agree more, buddy. This is what some of our "colleagues" don't understand - we all as a motorbike community have to try being less selfish. If only for the simple fact that if we keep annoying others, the 'law' will eventually come crashing down on us. We really don't need to give the governments, police, local councils, etc. even more reasons to restrict our beloved sport even more.

    @@Schaaf Yes, I was thinking the same thing! I'm a complete idiot novice to motorcycles and maybe a quick, 5-minute walk-around to explain what the machine is and key features would be very cool. Like, top speed (what everyone wants to know) how many gears, gas consumption, weight, and what kind of rider would enjoy the particular bike. It would be a great build-up in anticipation of the actual ride! *Cheers* - HS

    I guess he blurs because this way they can't tell at how much he was going over the speed limit, since you can lose your driving license or go to jail for driving at a certain speed over the limit (more than 150kph in a 100kph zone for example). When he blurs they don't have any evidence to withdraw his driving license or take him to jail. All they can do is fine him for speeding or for a basic rule violation like "Too fast for conditions".

    I really liked your message at the end. It's all about balance. It's kinda awesome to ride freely and fast and have loud exhausts because it excites you as the rider, but it probably annoys and may scare others around you. So you have to balance it in a way where you're not being a public menace. But you also don't have to kill your passion and be sterile. Riding a motorcycle in modern days isn't really the most rational and safe thing, which is kind of the point. It's an exciting and passionate activity. You have to throw rationality and logic a little bit out the window to have fun. But don't do it at the expense of others' enjoyment and peace. More people have to understand this

  • @zibingotaeam3716

    @zibingotaeam3716

    Rationally, motorcycles are far more environmentaly beneficial than cars. Less fuel used, less traffic jams caused compared to almost any car. The world would be a better place if more people rode to work on a 650 or smaller instead of alone in an SUV.

    Good advices in the end, i have to admit. Myself as well is using the sc project, it is so freaking loud and it hurts your ears honestly. I'm using it not for fun, but since I'm working in the morning and go back around 6pm, the traffic is very high. Sometimes those cars doesn't use their signals to change lane. The exhaust is the only thing i can depends on which i rev it to warn them I'm coming. It depends on what/why reason you use it. And i feel you bud 🤣

    6:45 that's one of my fears with an ADV bike -- on the verge of losing tarmac + the peg prevents your feet from solid ground😂 and yes, SC project will lead you to a eargasm if it's 100m away behind some bushes. But standing beside it could be annoying sometimes, it will literally shake the ground around, not sure matters or not if the bike was an R1(or an MT10, you see what i mean)😉😉

    @schaaf Do you run on a custom map? I have same bike with similar exhaust system (Akrapovic header, SC slip on) I could not make it pop like yours do. It shoots flames and pops on a startup with cold engine but soon as i drive it for about 500m, probably bike corrects itself and stops running bit rich and wont pop like in the video.

    Concerning the speedo. What benefit does it bring when you cover the speeds above 120? Mean if in your country 120 is already 20 or more above the allowed? Thanks and great video.

    Love the video and sound! Thanks! What I'm wondering after seeing this, is if the sound of this R1250GS with SC-project exhaust is very different from and R1200GS with SC-project exhaust. Because when looking at other video's, this combination sounds so much louder than an R1200GS with SC project. What are your thoughts on this?

    Well I just learned all about the Shaaf method. WIsh I'd seen this a few months ago! ANyway, I've found a solution that involves running a lav mic under the seat and leaving the cable out so I can plug it into a ZOOM recorder and hit record. Also love the idea about using a sound marker as a sync point. Till now I've favoured the old hand clap, but this is usually before I've even got on the bikes...
