BMW M2 Competition Exhaust UPGRADE: Active Autowerke EL midpipe + Remus Race

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

#remus #activeautowerke #bmwm2c

Finally got around to adding a much needed exhaust upgrade to the M2. I decided to go with an AA equal length midpipe (non res) and keep the downpipes stock. I also added a Remus race catback valvetronic rear box. At the time of this video I dont think I saw anyone else online with this combination. mostly due to the in demand midpipe backorders. However that means that in effect, was doing R&D. Hope this sounds as good as I think it should... tune in to see~

They actually split a while back. Edge started in Dublin but then split into 2 entities. One in Dublin and the other in Mountain View. The MTV group moved to Fremont. Not sure if the Dublin group is still there or not.

@@PointShiftDrive any idea if Left Coast Diesel is still around? I remember they used to joke about “Anything where fun starts at 1000hp...you’ve got to get in on that!” 😂 They used to be collocated at the Dublin shop. I left the Bay Area in 2014, so I’ve missed out on a bit. Lol. That aside, really like the exhaust combo. I’m trying to pick up a Remus for my M2C before I come back to the US from Germany. The import taxes make them crazy expensive, but they are soooo worth it. Pairing it with the AA EL pipe brings back that N55 sound, which is glorious!

Nick, this video is great. Very helpful. I've been planning to do this exact same setup, but I've been torn between the resonated and non-res midpipe. I'm afraid the non-res might be too loud. You seem to love it though. A year after this video, what are your impressions? Are you getting too many looks from the cops?

Thanks for putting this video together. The in-depth is good as well as clips of sound. Very civilized in non sport. A question on the AA EL. Did you go with resonated version? If not what kind of drone are you getting in what rev range? Thanks Nick!

  • @PointShiftDrive

I went with non resonated mid. you will see some drone at like 2900-3500 RPM but it actually depends more on throttle position. and to be frank, the drone to me isnt really noticeable. I am very happy with this set up.

@@PointShiftDrive Hi again. I have just installed the same exhaust on my M2CS. The non-res AA EL mid and Remus race. However, mine doesn’t sound like yours in the video. Mine being much quieter. I messed with the throttle buttons from efficient to sport plus and really did nothing. I do t have all those neat pops and burbles you have. Now, I am wondering if the CS engine has something to do with it. We did connect valve vacuum hoses. Any thoughts as to why it may be different? Appreciate the feedback! Thank you!
