you think i will get a code if i unplug the thing on the muffler? i think it is a actuator thing that helps the warm up process that opens and closes the flap in the back box. Mine rattles really loud on cold start until that flap opens then it sounds perfect. you hear that rattle or do i have defect in mine?

Not sure mate, this back box is actually made by BMW but not certified for Australian market. But there are even people talking about unplug the actuator all together to make the car sound better. Haven't heard any of them complaining about ECU error codes.

My m perfomance box had a defect. I unplugged the actuator and no more rattles. If u do it remember to unplug after the warm up process so it stays in the open position. Now it car sounds like sport mode in comfort mode tho.

This looks pretty easy but for the £54 GBP BMW quoted me for fitting I think I will leave it to them

Did you buy the exhaust direct from BMW or elsewhere? I have found a few cheaper ones online but am not sure if BMW will fit it for me if I didn't buy it from them.

Bought from BMW and they won't fit anything not supplied by them

I ordered it from Southern BM from Melbourne and they've imported it from the US. This exhaust is not available to Australian market so I don't really have a PN unfortunately...
