    He's on the brake all right! On the rear... It's the only way to do this at this kind of speed. The rear brake equalizes your throtle control, and the bike won't jump, if the injection kicks in, at almost idle rpm, when you pull just a little throtle. Like this you can push your bike down by force untill the footpegs start to scratch, without needing to worry. It stays stable.

    sorry for replying you after 7 years later. If we lean together with the bike while turning, gravity will sure play its part. His body posture was leaning away from the bike while he manoeuvres maybe thats why everything here looks so unreal.

    Try that on a older K1200LT and you have all sorts of stuff dragging like the side stand, center stand way before you ever get to the pegs... The power on the 1600 will pop a wheelie and smoke the tire unlike the K1200LT .. just wow.. nice post..

    what kind of tires do you have? i always have set on my bike tires like supercorsa or dunlop sportsmart and when it's wet or expecially cold i feel the front tires closing and the rear spinning. Maybe k 1600 gt have footpegs very near to the tarmac?

    interesting to see that you lean the bike but not your body so you can use your torso to heave the bike up if things start to go wrong i just learned this technique last summer and it works you just need the confidence to force the bike down

  • @klu001
    @klu00111 жыл бұрын

    THe bike is on it's factory MEtzeler Roadtec Z8 tyres. You can see, thet the track is all wet. It was raining all day. At this kind of speed you can lean the bike, no matter what kind of tyres you have. The footpegs are closer to the tarmac compared to sportbikes, but in this category of bikes it is higher than the average.

    Notice as the rider is not using the clutch at all.. It's just throttle and some rear brakes; very impressive with a bike that size and weight (350+ kg)

    I don't know about you, but my tires work just fine on wet pavement. Your tires have a lot more traction (wet or dry) than you think, assuming there's not a bunch of debris or oil on the ground.

  • @idiotVSwilde

    These are usually done in first gear (sometimes second). The rear break was constantly engaged,

    +Zouhair SOFIANI Sorry for the late reply. Yes, Andras Lieber is 100% correct. Gear 1, with constant rear brake. The rear brake is controlling the speed on almost idle RPM. It is necessary because at low speed and RPM it would be almost impossible to ensure a consistent throttle position.

    I would have thought if you leant with the bike, that would lower the cog, and allow less bike lean at the same speed... but dragging pegs unnessarily is cool... but I'm just a hack.
