I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Dean and his services! I can't imagine owning a BMW without ISTA D now. I can now work on and diagnose my own car like a pro. It has probably saved me millions. lol Exaggeration there, but seriously, you can save hundreds or even thousands of dollars when you no longer have dealer warranty. Simple diagnostic check from my dealer for any single thing is about $200 without even fixing it. Also when you know what's wrong with the car in advance, you can take it directly to the mechanic, and have them focus on it, instead of them charging extra on "additional labor" and troubleshooting

I came over from Nathans channel and want to say thanks in advance. Programming vids on youtube are few and far between - good ones anyway. I recently purchased a 2002 330ci that had been in a minor front end collision. For some yet unknown reason, the previous owner changed out the ACU and transmission module ( and God knows what else ). He did leave the old ones in the vehicle. It will be great to have you as a source as I delve into what is sure to be stupidity of the highest order. :)

I am based in Northern Ireland and would love to spread the work here across the water :) I am a BMW enthusiast and own 3 BMWs( rare facelift 740i m62tu with Active Cruise Control ACC. Built Oct. 2000 I have been told it is 1 of 11 in UK and ireland (Right hand drive)but not 100% sure, haven't seen another one with the big radar on the front bumper. Also own an e39 530i msport 2001 and an e39 2002 525d. All 3 running but with some small issues to fix. Would love to help your channels but I am far from your level lol

Hi Dr. Dean. I'm new with ISTA c+ and I'm trying to erase the transport mode cause I don't have air conditioning and rear defroster. Erasing transport mode asks for a fault clear, but the program won't erase the old already fixed errors on the Car. It goes to "Turning ignition and take the key off - after doing that nothing really go further of the screen with "take out the key" and cancel button. Clicking cancel button I guess, cancelling memory fault delete. When I try to erase the codes without erasing transport mode I get the same error. If you can give me any advice will be appreciated. With INPA I can clear errors and works just fine but I does not have the transport mode option. BMW Z4 2.5i 2003

Thanks, is it possible to erase one? Just rewrote my brake fluid & it didn't need it so it has an unnecessary +1 on the service counter.

Thanks for this video my X5 2009 was driving me crazy cause I remplace all the brakes and sensor and try to reset it using the dash board and it dint work I also try to crear the codes and nothing until I did the reset on front and back set them 100 per cent and boom light gone 😎👍

I would have stayed in the Auto industry but when you have guys that will tell you no one showed me why should I show you. Or won't even recognize you you when they walk by. I had one college Prof. said if someone explains to you at such a high level that you don't understand he doesn't understand it himself. You an Nathan will make a great Team. Glued to you Vids. Congrats on the new channel Dean. Enjoy your input on Nathan‘s channel. Have you considered doing a number of videos on ISTA-D from installation through diagnostic and into more advanced things like coding? Your expertise is sorely needed in this area. As you know there’s bits and pieces everywhere but nobody has a good series on using that software. I think if you put together a comprehensive set of videos covering the software you’ll get huge number of views and subscriptions. I am struggling with an ISTAD installation myself. I am able to get it to run but it does not communicate with my 2004 E53. I originally did the install without INPA, but could not get it to communicate. I installed INPA on the same windows install and that communicates no problem. I am using that clear K+DCAN USB adapter with the switch and it has the genuine chipset in it. I’m assuming ISTA-D can coexist with INPA and I am also assuming that it uses the same EDIBAS.INI file. Not sure if it’s in your plans to do that sort of thing but any sort of input or help would be appreciated. Look forward to your channel evolving...

My version of ISTA doesn't have learning valvetronic limit positions under adjustment functions can you help me find it? because I just replaced my solenoid and need to complete that task.

That means your version of Ista is very very old you won’t be able to find it if it’s not here it’s because your version doesn’t support it you need the later version

This applies for e60 e90 and all others apart from F SERIES as you need another tool for that

I keep trying to reset my CPs on ista d, won't let me clear all the service actions, keeps telling me won't clear, has anyone else had these problems please?

Dude you could shave an honest 3 to 4 minutes by skipping the intro and the initial ISTA sync
