BMW HP4 | S1000RR Test ride | Interview with Troy Corser

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

BMW presented their High-End-Superbike BMW S 1000 RR HP4 on the MotoGP racing circuit in Jerez de la Frontera. „HP" stands for „High Performance" and this title is completely in line with the offering of the bavarian motorcycle producer.
The bike is equipped with state-of-the-art-technologies: Race-ABS (inlcuding an IDM-Setting), traction control from 7 to +7, launch control for perfect starts and -- for the first time -- an electronically-adjustable chassis which dynamically adjusts to road and vehicle-conditions. The calibration-set seems to provide endless adjustment options for the driver. Unfortunately, the Competition-Pack with carbon-parts and adjustable footrests is only available at additional charge -- the only drawback actually.
This motorcycle is definately a class of its own and former Superbike-Champion Troy Corser agrees with us in the interview.

I find those headlights really unique. And being unique makes it all the more appreciable. No one else can use such an assymetic set of headlights design better than BMW!

The reflector is needed to shape the low beam light.

Just to let you know..... Headlight are different size because of weight savings, with one light smaller they saved 335 grams. Watch original video of presenting the first S 1000 RR, it's all explained!

I'm so tired of reading about how people don't like the assymetric headlights. They are that way because it saves 1.4 pounds of weight not having to put a huge reflector on both sides. The design of this bike is all about function and performance, it is not designed to be pretty. If you want a pretty bike, go somewhere else.

It's alright. Ninja is better^_^ Now this bike comes out the box with all the goodies and sweet stuff on it. Which will give it the edge over any other factory bike. However once the ecu is flashed on the new 10r and you put the pipe, PCV, K&N air filter and other bolt on stuff, It makes more power than the s1000rr^_^ Either way they all fast as light and you would only use like 35% of the bikes power anyway on the streets. I think all brands should make a model that comes complete^_^
