I have that old F650 Red Classic Mule and in order to empty the top oil tank you would only need to loosen up one single bolt on the frame. I guess BMW thought that it would be more profitable for them to make this whole thing more difficult by taking apart half the bike before draining the oil.

they also changed the oil filter and air filter. on the oil side all they had to do is empty the oil box & the remaining oil through the hole on the bottom. Not very hard

As usual: Gloves on for first 1/3 of job, then forget about them for the rest :D

No właśnie mój Dakar 2001 oleju weszło 2.7 ... ale był Cały olej zlany..

Hola, enhorabuena por el vídeo. Alguno de vosotros ha aflojado el tapón del depósito del aceite con el motor encendido? a mí me ha echado aceite a gorgotones y no sé si es normal o si está pasando presión del cilindro al carter.

i recommend a 15w 50 depending on if you can get your hands on it and the climate of where you live. a 20w 50 is fine and more accessible, but bike may be sluggish to start up in colder weather, hope this helps!
