I’m having trouble with my oem head unit. Im probably going to install an Eonon GA8165a in my 2006 325i as per your recommendation. My problem is I had a hip replacement recently and I can’t sit or maneuver well yet. Although your vid is very thorough I may need help. I have a feeling you and I aren’t very far apart. Would you, in the event we are geographically close to each other, consider installing it for me? I would of course pay you for your expertise. How would we exchange info and keep any crazies from zeroing in on us? Is there a pm system on KZread? Thanks, Kevin.

Hey! I got the same "problem" with PDC button. How to I get a custom ashtray so I can move the PDC button away from the bracket? I really love to install an android but I haven't figure out where to put that stupid button

Hi, did you ever have an issue where the time or date set on the unit does not save?

You know if you dont have the phone module on a 2005 e90 do you need to purchase a mic or do they all come with them as standard ? I have all the bottons for the phone functionality but I dont have the phone option in my BMW head unit... I assume this will be a problem. I've just ordered one of these units but the full touch screen one. Im hoping to get a mic with it...

its the same process as moving the climate controls. you just have to take off the trim on the center console to get to the screws by the ashtray

Why does my oem radio have two plugs? One pink and one black and i just cant get either of them off.

I just didn't trim the air unit control enough so it was sticking out a little...but with a little trimming it fits!

I installed a newer version of this unit in my 328xi 07' and my AC isn't functioning properly. the blower sounds like it is working but no air is coming out my vents. anyone have similar issues??

+JD Cars quick question. I’m want to order the xtrons 7 inch. But in their description it says it comes with a 6m extension wire to connect to the battery to save memory of this unit. redsfan54321 drop the headlining down by removing the sun visor. You can access the retaining clips from above then.

This sounds like you may have a loose battery connection. Check all connections to the back of the head unit.

What a great job on the video !! I noticed your stock radio has the M.O.S.T. wiring in the factory harness as does mine. Are you getting error codes of any type or did you do something to bypass it or turn it off somehow to avoid problems ? I'm installing an Eonon GA8165A unit. Again...AWESOME video !!

As a matter of fact I pulled out my head unit today to see if I received any errors. I drove around for a while and none have appeared. Also the stock poweramp isn't in the MOST chain so I wont have to worry about it. I'm thinking the only head units requiring being installed for car software upgrades or troubleshooting are the IDrive and Logic7 units since you can program functions from them. I will keep my stock radio in any case. The SOS function has previously been turned off I'm assuming and my radio has no bluetooth functions. It's looking good right now. I'm not looking to blow the doors off but I think I will upgrade speakers and poweramp. I'm open to suggestions on both. Just don't have a lot of money to throw at it.

Would this be the same radio and install process for a 09 335i coupe?

Hey, I installed eonon and run in to trouble with seat heaters, from where did you put the seat heaters cable to the back of climate control? I cant find a space to put it trough, found one way but thats too long, the cable should be longer.
