Thank you SOOOOO much! I have had my BMW for 8 years and cannot tell you how frustrating it was to turn on my wipers. Living in CA drought it was bearable but in Hawaii, no way! Thank you for taking the time to explain how to correctly operate the BMW wipers. Can’t wait for a shower to test them out.

Thanks Urbandriver, nobody in other how to videos I saw shared the car must be moving for the rain sensing function to operate. Your video was a big help for me as, I was trying to figure them out while parked, now I know they only work with the car moving. I did not get any manuals or books with my second hand 07 BMW 328xi.

The thumbwheel only works in auto mode and only when driving. If you are at the stop light, the default interval is 5 seconds. That can be recoded in the JBBF to 3 seconds. You may think the wheel works at standstill because anytime you change settings wiper go over once, but that's because they are being told to recalculate density which is always done on a "clean" windshield. This is very well explained in functional description of rain sensor in BMW technical literature (not the same as owner's manuals)

yep a really comfort option

auto mode doesn't work that good when there is light rain. i would love if there was an option for setting manual speed like in other cars but also keep the auto mode

Yes . You have 0 zero , 2 and 3 speed . They put automatic instead of 1 speed …

Thanks, this explains why my wipers were acting up when my ABS sensor died, I didnt knew about the start/stop feature :)

BMW now getting worse and worse. Since e46 only shts - unnecessary flaps , chain problems, engine temp gauge deleted (Wtf? WHY?!!!), interval wipers deleted and have some shtty auto mode, auto glow plug system works in dumb auto mode (Older mechanical key system was perfect) etc. Yes, and battery cable now is laying outside of the trunk. And thats not all - lets make a battery cable connection between trunk and outside, where constantly is contact with water, dirt, ice and salt, BMW said! For some firework surprise! :D :D :D Loved BMW, but now I see that every younger generation are getting dumber and dumber.
