Understeering is when you lose traction on your front wheels and you cannot turn in the corner as tight as you wanted to, because your car keeps going forward too much. Very different concepts. Undertaking is a stupid choice of action, understeering is a physical limitation of your car and road conditions.

@@Ardeactthat was extremely instant to be mic clipping. I used to have one of these, if you had a cd in the player it would skip if you hit a hard bump or took a crazy turn. I think the cd was skipping during the crash.

Lots of lessons for Fast and Furious fans here. Yes, he didn’t roll, thankfully, but what if he did? As others have pointed out, with his seatbelt unfastened and the airbags missing in action, a roll would’ve made this into a really bad accident. A panoramic roof is another safety liability if you end up rolling, I might add. People, please don’t take unnecessary risks if you’re going to put your foot down. If luck isn’t on your side, you could easily end up ruining your day and *somebody* *else’s*, in a *BIG* way. He dodged that black car by a whisker, in all honesty. As for why he crashed, I think it was due to him weaving at high speed. Sometimes, that can put you sideways in a hurry, and if you can’t correct it in a hurry, you’re officially in a heap of trouble.

not missing. The side aribags deployed. Probably his clock spring died or just a bad connection under the seat airbag. it is a common problem on BMW

@@sriavula Agreed. Steering left and then back to the right so quickly was what caused it to oversteer, but it was his speed that forced him to steer that way as he tried to avoid the two slower-moving cars ahead.

0:54 never ever accelerate a rear wheel drive car and at the same time turn a curve unless you want Drift

That might also make it oversteer as you put more weight on the front when you're off throttle, it all depends on the situation.

@@miguelmsilva4112 The thing is, he already lost traction by accelerating too early out of the curve, and then when he is already oversteering he let off the gas all at once causing the weight to shift away from the rear, which is what made him dive straight into the barriers. The driver is a total idiot.

​@@unrealeckit's the opposite, fwd cars don't handle high horsepower as well as rwd or 4wd, the only sport cars with with fwd are the lower hp cars like hondas. Essentially every supercar or high horsepower sport car is rwd or 4wd.

Not sure if he's a candidate anymore for Bosley or Hair Club for Men. But yeah, this really happened right in front of me a few years back. And yeah, he survived, but was howling like a banshee.

I never understood some of these people. I myself like to race but only when I’m not really risking other people life’s, either empty freeway or simply as long as there’s not many cars to cut. This what causes the accidents I call that reckless driving rather than actually having fun and have a race

1. The road isn't a race track 2. Even on a race track this crash would have been utterly stupid 3. No seatbelt, he was born again, 2nd chance in life

He started accelerating before the vehicle was straight and stability control was off, so the vehicle went into a drift. Even if stability was off, he would have still been able to make it if he didn't accelerate before the vehicle was straight. He does some drifting, you could see he did small ones at the beginning of the video.

@@nikolakrsticevicif anything it understeered not oversteered. You can see him turning the steering wheel yet the car keeps moving forward in a straight line and hits the curb. While rwd cars are very prone to oversteer they are still prone to understeer and with such little time and space he couldn’t have saved it at that point, so yes he shouldn’t have used the gas pedal when maneuvering so tightly and should have used more gentle steering at high speeds

Everyone hating on him for having 0 skills... that's not true. Sure, he wasn't driving anywhere near how you legally are supposed to, and also listening to crap music, and also not wearing a seatbelt. So an idiot, he was. Unskilled, he is not. He had good control of the car after the crash. He prevented it from hitting the black car in front and also deployed the handbrake and brought it to a stop in a tidy skid, all while getting bounced around in the cabin. If you drive that car daily you'll know how tricky it can sometimes be to predict in certain conditions especially with RWD and that much power. So cut him some slack. He is probably a better driver than the people who are shitting on him.
