Do you know what other bmw alternators fit the e46

what alternator did you use ? Cause some come with air ducts and i cant seen to find one without an air duct

The air duct one is pre 2003, the plug is different, the ones after 2003 had no duct and had a different plug. Technically you can use either one as long as you replace the voltage regulator on the alternator unit or just brake the plug and make the contacts fit. Its relatively the same unit except those after 2003 had 150 amp options. If you need one without a duct I still have one on my shelf laying around 150 amp, message me I can sell it

See the 50skid video, or shoplifetv - there’s an insert that needs knocking back a bit to release the alternator.

**Read** I did this in 45 min without removing fan , fan shroud and oil lines Lol guys you don’t need to remove all that stuff to replace alternator .
