The Bmw e36 trunk latch mount is a weak design from the factory, over time can develop cracks from fatigue in the sheet metal. This repair does a good job of sandwiching the metal between the latch and an external plate.

Last weekend I changed trunk latch. Today I changed bottom post. WHOLE time was the bend you just showed. THANK YOU THANK THANK YOU THANK YOU. I went on EBAY to the reinforcement piece. I am awaiting confirmation item will work on a convertible. Thank You AGAIN Have a great 2024!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
