Make sure before you unbolt the exterior door handle, you remove the window guide rail and unclip the window regulator sliders. You are going to need to manually tilt the window glass in order to get enough clearance to remove the door handle.

You DON"T pry off the handle surround as you'll break the tabs every time. On the end of the door, you lift the rubber cover and use your "husky" to go in there around the edge of the door and then push the bras rail (you can see the rail at 5:01) towards the front of the car. Once moved properly, the handle surround comes right out by pulling the top out and downward, then the bottom tabs lift out! Other than that pretty good video! Really liked your keyway video the best.

Agreed. do NOT pry the cover off. Remove the plastic cover on the door edge/jam and slide the metal clip to release that cover. It is in every manual. READ how to to it right.

You forgot to mention the sliding clip inside the door that secures the door handle trim on the handle.

Wow your way is way easier than other's on here. I am about to tackle replacing my driver side door handle & (fingers crossed) remove passenger back wheel & see if it moves to check for bad wheel bearing since I hear loud noise on turns. If time permits drain & change my oil. Thanks again!

Great video. My mother's car, the clip fell off inside when you put the key in the lock nothing happens when you turn it. I need new clip to unlock door.

The plastic trim outside the door handle?

Wow....that looked to easy. I got a 97 M3 4 door. I couldn't get the handle out around the top rail for the window without breaking the whole handle assembly. Can you hit me up, so I can ask a couple more questions?
