    Really good informative video. I’d like to upgrade a 323ci & a 330ci but both would need at least 18 maybe even 19 inch wheels, I’m sure my discs are like 300mm 😢

    nice, it would be usefull, a measurement of the offset of the caliper, from the carrier to external pistons, to see the fitment of the wheels. the caliper seems to be really big, i had 18" type csl wheels in non M had a lot clearance stock, but i think the caliper will hit.

    Hi, thank you for a great video. I've read on some forums, that you need to shave 1 milllimeter of each brakepad, when using T5 brakedisc, because they are 32mm think compared to the OEM BMW disc, which are 30 mm thick. What are your experince ?

    Congratulations on the very well explained video, however I have doubts regarding the use of the Master Cylinder, do you use the original or did you change it, for E36 which one would be correct so as not to make the brake rubbery. 🤜⚔️🤛🏁🏁🏴‍☠️🇧🇷🇧🇷🎱🔥👻

    I've been looking for a brake upgrade for my '03 330i ZHP. My biggest concern is heat. The temperatures where I live reach 46C to 49C in the summer. I have a bolt-on Hawks kit on the car now but during the summer, my brakes can get fatigued very quickly still. I feel like rotors that can dissipate that heat as quickly as possible would be the way to go for me but I'm not sure how to tell which ones would do the best job at that.

    Useful info, thanks. What's the pedal travel like after and what MC are you using, OEM if so which model? Also, a bit confused about the T5 disc spec. The E36 uses a CB of 72.5 and the T5 disc spec is CB of 76mm, so the comment about enlarging the T5 CB is confusing without sharing the part number or specs of the exact 340mm disc you are using in your application.

    Where did you get those hub spacers? Also it might sound odd but i have 2x Left side calipers like these (from an F30 335i) could i use 2 left side calipers? Other than the bleeder screw pointing on the wrong side, and brake line angle, if the line is long enought i shouldnt have any issues right? All 4 pistons size are the same? (Not staggered like some 6 pots brakes)

  • @vysgarage

    No you can’t. Routing of Brake lines is critical, And bleed valves have to be at the top.

    Hello, I’m in the USA. I already purchased 340 calipers and I test fitted the caliper on my ‘96 328i. Bolts right up, I’m still going to grab some washers from work. My question is; where can I purchase the custom brake lines or what are the specifications so I can find someone here in the US to make the brake lines for me? Second question, since the US did not get VW T5’s, what’s the link where I can get the same T5 rotors?

    @@vysgarageAny reason to run 340x32mm instead of 340x30mm? Seems like the factory discs for these calipers are the 340x30? I'm just not quite understanding why we would wanna run a thicker disc/rotor instead of using what the caliper was meant to run. I'm assuming the 2MM schisms are meant to space out the rotor from the hub so it can sit centered between the pads

  • @vysgarage

    @vysgarage

    3 ай бұрын

    @@FailofWar127 2mm shims are used to space out the hub on e46 m3 only, Caliper washers are there to space out Caliper on non-m models, not the rotor. The reason to use those rotors is that they are the only ones that work on e36/e46. You need to take into account hat/bell depth, rotor diameter, width, pad swept height etc. If you’d like to suggest 340x30 rotors that would fit, I will gladly try them 👍🏻
