Car needs to be at the same level (front and rear) and than when oil start to come out from a plug (when filling) it has perfect oil level, in this case it is overfilled. So anyone who plan to work on own car make sure to make it the same level, if you want to make a good job.

On the e91 wagons there is a cross-member covering access to the fill plug. It can easily be removed with 5 easy to access bolts. The 3 located at the rear (1) and by the jack points (2) are 18mm sockets and the two located in the middle of the cross-member are 16mm sockets. Luckily I was doing this (and changing my shocks) with the assistance of my friend's impact gun which made this an EASY step. Wouldn't be too difficult with hand tools as long at you have a good breaker bar. Once the cross-member is removed the job is the same as in the video.

Good work with the fluid swap. One question though, shouldn't the car be level to get the correct amount of fluid in the differential?

It should be level for sure because FULL is based on fluid coming out. If the back is raised, excess fluid is added and this will damage your diff

BTW I don’t think you should sell the e90! It would be so sad to see it go! Plus with its age and the miles that are on it, you probably wouldn’t get a ton for it. I’m not saying you shouldn’t get another bimmer, just suggesting that you keep the e90. I think that it would be cool to see you do a build of an M3 or M4. If you go to copart you can easily pick up an M4 between $1K-$10K. Sure they’re going to need some work, but that means PLENTY of content for the channel!
