As someone who has owned an E36 M3, E36 328is, E46 325i, E39 525i, E39 540i, and an E34 525i, (all maintained by me, never a shop) whoever told you BMWs weren't reliable either didn't know much of anything about bimmers or flat out lied... BMW makes up the majority of cars I've owned over the past 10 years and I've owned Honda/Acuras, Toyota/Lexus, Chrysler/Dodge, Volkswagen, Mazda(miata), and Mercedes.... 17 cars so far........yes I have a problem and no I will not change... As always great video 💪🏾

BMWs are reliable as long as you keep up on the maintenance and take care of it as you should, especially the older naturally aspirated models. An E36 is so rewarding and any kind of tuning can be felt in how the car behaves. I own one currently and I came from an E39 which was also an amazing car to drive.

I second this I had an e46 that was pretty great j had a few cooking problems but that was my fault for not being on top of it, was a great car but now I have an e36 and it’s even better such a raw car no feeling like driving these things

I have an e46 and an e30 maintenance isn’t bad just gotta keep up with it, older bmws aren’t as expensive to maintain as new ones

I own two e36s and daily drive one of them! Love them both so much! My coupe is sitting at 222k miles no check lights and is daily driven! They are reliable if you treat them right!

facts i got a zhp e46 and yeah maintenance is just key. just like every old car, stuff needs to get replaced. i just hate that they say it’s unreliable because they are pretty reliable if you take care of them

I currently own two e36s and have had two in the past anyone who has had an old bmw will tell you everyone is wrong! They are super reliable! One of mine currently has 222k miles on it with no check engine lights or issues almost all original! I promise man you will never regret getting an e36! They are amazing cars! Now is the time to get into one before they are super expensive!

I have an e36 m3, get one while they are still cheap-ish. They aren’t bad to maintain if you get a nice one (worth the money). Definitely one of the best handling cars of all time

My mom has had a 320i x drive 2015 for years now. The only thing that has broke on it was the water pump. Only buy a BMW with a warranty still on it. Like any machine, just take care of it and it will take care of you.

hey man , love your videos! just get an E36, i have one and the engine is super reliable, there are a few problems but they are very cheap to maintain and as soon as you bought one, change the entire cooling system. the engine is never the problem tho. all of the reliability upgrades for an E36 is very cheap! and the handling is very good! the new BMWs are unreliable but the older ones are very good. really fun to drive! keep up the good work! oh and BMWs are precision machines and if treated good, it runs good.

I have an ‘82 320i irl and it has the same wheels as the e30 at 9:40 nobody talks about the e21. First generation of 3 series but everyone’s just obsessed with the e30🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️

People that claim beamers are unreliable don’t know how to do proper maintenance. My dad, my girl, and myself all have beams and none of them have been “unreliable”. Just do regular maintenance (if you do it yourself its way cheaper) but even if you need a shop to do it just go to a trustworthy mechanic that wont overcharge you just because of the make of the car. Most people claim they are unreliable because they either don’t maintain the car, don’t know how to work on the car, or put crazy mods in them that put stress on the engine. They prefer to blame the car instead of taking responsibility for their negligence. If you want a BMW bro look for one with the n52 or m54 engine. Super reliable and easy maintenance. The only pain of owning a used beamer will be replacing stuff that should’ve been replaced already and possible electrical problems which you can avoid easily by buying an older beam or by having a dealership do an inspection on the vehicle before purchase. I always recommend for people to join the beamer fam just do research on the model and engine combo for the one you want before buying so you know what to expect. This is my first time seeing one of your videos btw and love the content! New sub incoming!

This man speaks the truth Cooling system but also power steering upgrade bc my shit be leaking and I replaced the entire power steering with all oem not realizing it will leak forever( so upgrade power steering to the AN power steering kit and new cooling system)

m52 and m52tu found in the next generation are generally problem free, aside from cooling system issues which may lead to cracking the head. also, they rust like crazy, but are still better than their japanese counterparts.

You have to buy a BMW. I drive an E92 325i and it's fun. BMW engines etc are actually relatively stable (at least the 3l 6cyl). You can be lucky or unlucky. Otherwise get yourself an e36 318, which doesn't cost as much.

E36s are reliable that’s why many people beat on them and leave them unmaintained, especially early model 325i’s with an m50 non vanos, really strong internals Over the m52 vanos, m50s were part of bmw for the longest and notorious. I currently own a e34 with a built m30b35 fbo, 292 cam, ported manifolds/throttle body, 24lbs injectors and tuned and I can say m30s are one of toughest motors with that cast iron block and strong stock internals but them being older motors they need to be taken care like for an m30 I needa adjust the valve gaps here and there and most of this stuff you can do yourself, bmw would run the 80s and 90s. Just takes some swimming in the forums.
