JB4 mobile app has been out for 8+ years still the same setup mostly, but I have the JB4 mobile app setup videos etc on my channel covering that, which is why I didn’t include it. I’ll be doing some more newer videos of JB4 set up & option changes here soon.

Great vid! does leaving it plugged into the obd port drain the battery?

When taking the car to the dealer for maintenance (when car is in warranty), do you have unplug all sensors or just unplug from the cable from the OBD port

Question , how about the 2021 540i b58 335 hp, how much hp does it add with jb4 91 ?

Do you have to unlock the ECU install the jb4 on the 2024(g22)

After doing this what happens to the drive modes in the infotainment system, like comfort mode and eco and sport plus? All they all gone and you just get crazy power all the time ? Or can you still put it in comfort mode

Jb4 is a piggyback. Technically not a real tune

There is a small hole on the firewall. So you run the obd2 connector in there. Small enough for the 4 pin square connector.

i remember when i had my 2007 300c srt8 i used the diablo sport to tune my car and it was cordless i hate all those cables in my car

while cordless is great, connections can Fail. as where direct cable is more secure with a lesser chance of a glitch. and i hate to be in boost with a lost connection. The cables can be wire tied to the oem wires using color ties for easy detection and removal ( vs tracing the wires and pulling the wrong wires as dirt builds up and we lose track of what's what). just my opinion. trust me i rather have wireless but not for this.

Which is the better choice, the JB4 or the Race Chip? I wonder what are the pros and cons of each

love the m340 just got myself a 2022 as well, instead of sending my ecu to get unlocked from femto can i just use a jb4? for custom burble tunes.

BMW turned off the burble tunes on these so you would need to get a flash tune to add the burble back on

Has this given you any issues with the car? I have a 2020 M340i and was thinking of getting the JB4?

I've had my JB4 since I bought my car almost 2 years ago and haven't had any issues at all.

How does one change or select the maps ? Can't seem to find that process anywhere. New M340i owner here 😎

Thanks again for the video, very helpful for install. Just installed on mine, and instantly made me nervous on WOT the AFR seem dangerously lean on all the maps. Did you experience this as well? AFR stuck in the 14:1 range when boosted I'm more familiar with what should be a 11.5:1 range. I have stock down pipe, Burger cold air intake with AWE exhaust currently running an E30 fuel mix. Can anyone shed some light on this, I'm afraid to burn this thing up.

​@@MrEliteLolz I like it. I run map 2 because I'm in Cali and we only have 91. Every once in a while I will add 3.7gal of e85 and run map 5. You can feel a really nice difference over map 2 with that.

​@@MrEliteLolzyou should be good on map 3 with 93 octane. But you can always go to their forum and upload some logging and someone from Burger will look at it and let you know if you are good. The forum has good info and there are posts on how to record a log and what to do. Map 2 isn't a huge difference for me over stock but map 3 should be nice and noticeable for you. When I add the e85 and use map 5 I can really feel that over map 2. My car is stock other than the JB4. Soon I will be adding a catted downpipe which should really open it up.

No u need to actually tune your ecu I believe. If u have 21 or older its a pain🤦🏽‍♂️

Nope It’s a piggy back tune that gives a false reading that your running low on boost so that it increases

No you can not. You have to flash the DME for that.

It won’t if everything is connected good, etc. Did it come up right away? I would double check your connections, clear codes and then try it again.

Yes. But if you have a car under warranty and want to keep that warranty, you can buy the carbahn (dinan) tune and pay an extra $1,000 which matches your factory warranty in case anything happens. JB4 is a lot more customizable, carbahn is pretty bare bones in the customization aspect.

you can find ways to tie it down with wire ties or double-sided tape that can withstand heat. just have to be creative with it

Unfortunately my new M5 was arriving to the dealer and had to drop what I was doing during this install and head there asap. I do have other JB4 mobile app videos on switching maps etc, which is the exact same for any JB4 unit

It says up to 100hp which means in the regular 93 octane maps its not the full power, how much hp is it making on the map1-3. If I plan on staying with 93 octane would it be smarter to get just jb+ since its the same psi as map 2, would that mean jb+ makes the same power as jb4 for half the price?

That will be with e85 mixes to get the max power. Really all depends on your mods for map 1-3, but still plenty of great gains running 93 octane. Speaking from experience,I ran a JB+ 9 years ago on my current 08 335i and while it was great, when I switched to the JB4 the car was that much better in overall power output as it’s more fine tuned. Plus, able to run the Bluetooth connect kit, map switches through the app and so on for the JB4.

@@BMWFanatic Yeah but map 2 on jb4 is adding 4 psi while max setting is 4.5 psi added for jb+. Would that mean same power for half the price or is there other factors that increase performance in the jb4. I plan on only running 93 so i dont want to waste $300 for no extra hp

@@zendy04 map 1 is 3 psi over stock Map 2 is 4 psi over stock Map 3 is 6 psi over stock Map 4 has a target boost of 20 psi Map 5 has a target boost of 22 psi Map 4 & 5 are suggested to be ran with 30% E85. This is for jb4, personally I think it’s a better option for the money, you already have the car, why cheap out now…

@@Mr.Lambert777 definitely worth it im just trying to figure out if its smarter to get jb+ instead of jb4 since its cheaper but if you plan on staying with just 93 the psi increase isnt much higher between the 2. But some say the jb4 is more fine tuned so its more than just “psi increase”

I know its a fantastic performance engine but God it looks horrible with the cover off lol! Its like a dozen plates of black Spaghetti was dumped on it lmao

Yeah I know it’s easy and have done that on my F10 M5 video, but wanted a quick install process for this video. Mentioned the two options in the video - so whichever one suits the installer at that time.
