This is the new BMW 7er 2016, featuring the amazing BMW 7 Series 2016 Executive Lounge, Connected Drive, The New I Drive, Electrically adjustable comfort seats with massage function in the rear and Active seat ventilation for all seats, plus the optional Executive Lounge Seating.
Mine was a 730d G11/G12 Long-wheelbase version of the new BMW 7 Series and had also the Sky Lounge Panorama glass roof. Ambient air is also a wonderful feature noted here.
The Steering and lane control assistant, Lane keeping assistant with active side collision protection, Rear collision prevention and Crossing traffic warning functions have been added to the Driving Assistant Plus system. Sadly this car did not have those.
The Traffic jam assistant - which involves semi-automated driving - can be used on any type of road. And the Active Cruise Control with Stop & Go function now only requires a small amount of driver interaction.
BMW Laser Lights are an amazing feature we tried which looks terrific at night.
Parking camera, and 3D View and Panorama Side View option in the Control Display made a wonderful easy parking experience. Parking Assistant is what you really need though.
iDrive 5.0 with touch display and Gesture Control was a joy to use and greatly improved processor speed.
Optional 7" Touch Command Tablet can be used to control: seat settings, interior lighting and air conditioning, infotainment, navigation and communication system. Can play external audio and video files, surfing the internet or used as a games console. A WiFi hotspot built into the vehicle provides the necessary online connectivity. Selection made on the tablet will then play on one of the 10-inch screens of the Rear-seat entertainment system.
