    @Jon7Lane Thanks for your reply. Good to hear about the lack of squeaks & rattles. FYI - I have an E46 330i and also suffer with intermittent parking sensors. Anyway, will keep browsing Autotrader for an E65.

    Yes, they are to change gear when in manual mode. Either one changes down a gear. On the back of the steering wheel there are paddles to change up a gear. They are very nice to use if you want to drive a bit harder and not have to break around corners.

    There are two different types of people in this world, those who prefer Diesel and those who prefer Petrol. It does at least 25MPG on average, and so for me it's well worth it for not sounding like a tractor! Thanks for the comments.

    Thank you for producing such an informative video. Oh, and great barging! If you don't mind my asking, how long have you had your E65 735i? Have you had any/many problems with it? Also how is the build quality for things such as squeaks and rattles?

    The fridge is the centre glove compartment. You flick a plastic vent inside and it diverts the air conditioning into it. Yes I still have the car and no probs apart from an air bag warning light that I have just ignored - I think it's a common issue that I am happy to live with at the moment. I know the car may cost be a lot when I service it or change the tyres, but it is SOOOOO nice to drive, I absolutely love it! It is the best car I have ever driven and I hope to keep it for many years!

  • @Jon7Lane

    A warning comes up if required. If I was to buy another I would but one 2005 onwards - more reliable electrically I think.

  • @Jon7Lane
    @Jon7Lane12 жыл бұрын

    @granthibbett Hi, I've had it for about 2.5 years, and had a few issues with two HT leads failing and a water leak. Also, I have two error lights permanently on - to do with the seat sensor in the passenger seat, but I just ignore them. Sometimes the PArking Sensor doesn't work. So, it's not perfect, but generally not a problem. It's still cheaper to run than buying a new car and losing the depreciation, and it's brilliant to drive, I love it! No squeeks or rattles - just electronic issues.

    @Jon7Lane - well I bought a used 2006 LWB after cancelling an order for the XJ. Not a car I had EVER considered but it was cheap. It's stunning to drive and having seen your clip I now know I have a telephone keypad - how cool is that. It also has TV etc etc which is about as use to me as whatever except my 6 year old neighbour sat in the car for 30 minutes wtching Harry Potter but I had to sit with him because there were "frightening bits". I eventually turned blue and brought him in. G

  • @Jon7Lane
    @Jon7Lane15 жыл бұрын

    I think they all have it so yours should. There should be a button on the steering wheel - try pressing it. First basic command is "Radio On", second one is "Options" - this is very useful because then all of the options are told to you, and you just repeat the one you want! It works whichever menu you go to, and so it's the only command you ever really need to remember.

    Hello - I am just about to look for one of these, but I have a few questions, which you might be able to answer, the arm rest in bethween driver's and passenger's seat, is it adjustable, like can you scoot it forward/backward, raise up and stuff? .. because, honestly in the possition it is right now - it does look comfortable, but it is not very RoadHead friendly, and I think you get a lot of road headd with a car like that :D the other one is cost of the repairs, I mean, if something goes wrong

  • @Jon7Lane

    We had a 2006 one and it was the 730d and it was a nice car but features like the closing doors piss me off the only optional extras we had on ours are the 4 zone climate control the alloys and i think the soft close boot lid was one and the Logik 7 sound system, but its to expensive to run, and its too big so we have down sized to a 2006 mercedes E320 cdi and its a much faster car and better on fuel !! but the bmw was such a nice car to own :)

  • @Jon7Lane
    @Jon7Lane14 жыл бұрын

    Yeah, I guess so. The car is great to drive and practical too - lots of space and fast and relatively frugal with petrol. But there are a lot of electronics, and so potentially lots to go wrong, and service charges might be high - the first one is in about 2 months time!! We will see. It's a brilliant car, especially bought second hand - sooooo much cheaper than new!!

    @MrRAKAHIDZA I think we were first to create driving rules a long time ago, with horse and cart etc. when the right arm was to remain free for other purposes such as shaking hands and sword fighting, and this is where it all began. Other countries decided to drive on the other side, but we remain true to our heritage. No big deal, do what you like, it really is not a big deal...be cool!

    @thehulk3010 Well yes it can add up, and they do sometimes have probs. Tyres are over £200 each, and stuff like oil changes and servicing adds up, but hey that is the cost of driving a great car. The effortless power of my 3.6 litre engine is amazing, press the pedal and it feels like it's going to take off - a 4.4 litre must be incredible. Get one and enjoy, and keep some money aside for bills, and don't go to BMW garages - they are 30% more expensive than other BMW specialist.

  • @Jon7Lane
    @Jon7Lane15 жыл бұрын

    Well basically it will do about 40 Kilometres to a Gallon of petrol which is about 5 litres, so about 8 Kilometres per litre - which here in the uk costs about £1 (around 1.15 Euro) So this equates to about 12 pence per Kilometre, or about 10 Kilometres to one Euro. I hope that's enough for you Just buy one and find out. There are more economical cars, but if you want to enjoy yourself get one!

Plus tons more gadgets... I don't understand why people buy these 735 models... What made you buy your one?? Myself, well the reason I didn't buy a 760Li, is because I didn't see the point in buying a V12 that had 4 more cylinders, but didn't give much in return over the V8...
